Well what's so different about it? I mean, it's not an exact replica but that's not really needed is it? As long as I can get some sort of technique going I should be fine if I were ever faced with the real thing.
I mean, the only difference would be the notches are made of metal instead of wood.
And I can't really think of any other obstacles ATM that are cheap and that I'd really need to build.

Well it would make it so easy this guy could do it.
EDIT: After I posted this I realised the guy who uploaded it was CaptainO16... If that's Captain Obvious from these forums and he sees this topic.. I don't mean anything by the comment.. XD

That's wierd... no they arn't the same person Rider. Caption Obvious is a 24 year old math teacher, Captain O is a freshman in highschool.
And his isn't necessarily easy, but it only has a few notches, and why do you say it's easy in the first place? That kid is pretty fit, he has an amazing Globe Grasp hovering above his pool and also doubles it as a rumbling dice.

If you put them in at an angle like he did, it might be ok. I say the Salmon Ladder is easy. It doesn't take much strength to beat and it doesn't cause that much fatigue.

Yeah that's what I meant, putting them in at the right angle, i think it's 45 degrees-ish or something like that.
It may infact be easy, but it's obviously one of the most notorioius obstacles on the course. And still, I want it for mu Junsei Ryou series.
My stage 3 will be so much harder after all of these new obstacles.

no they arn't the same person Rider Confirmed. That's not me. I'm out of shape from focusing most waking hours to mental workouts rather than physical ones. They say after the first two years here the 20 hour days of studying and homework and classwork become rare. The Globe Grap in the video looks great, and the lopsided spacing is a nice touch, as it seemed that the "reaching out with your left hand" part was the difficult part of the real thing. I've come to a conclusion. In hindsight, it was the only obvious conclusion. Oti should upload of video doing the obstacle with the different techniques and discuss the pros/cons of each. Seeing a block of text of him saying one way is superior makes him look like an a** regardless of how politely he says it, but I think doing it as an instructional video would be ideal. With demonstrations and information of which muscle groups are being worked with the dead-hang and 90-degree-angle methods and even with varying hand positions/grips, he could come across as useful and helpful as well as more of relatable personality that people would support in his goal of being on Sasuke. Good things to come out of it: (1) It's a type of Sasuke-related video that there is a lack of. (2) It gives him a chance to show off his obstacles. (3) It allows him to share his opinions on the obstacles and techniques in a non-confrontational manner (4) Quite a few people look like they are in serious pain when they do the Spider Walk, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Oti's done a LOT of it and become well-versed in it ever since Santa Monica a few months ago. (5) He'd look less like an a** (remember that I'm on your side, Oti) --- Back on topic, again: That Globe Grasp really does look good. Thumbs-up!

Thank ya, took me all day to make (WHY DON'T WE HAVE A DRILL?!)
I tried the 90 degree thing yesterday, it takes a lot of the pain away from your hands, but as suspected takes more arm strength and it's harder to reach for the globe. And if you miss grabbing the globe it's really hard to hold on with 1 hand so you'll most likely fall. (Unless you're Bunpei)

I might be mistaken, but didn't Takeda also hold on 1 globe in a tournament before? Oh, and even though I made a comment on your video already. Very nice! I shall have one soon.. Hopefully.

Regardless, it sucks if you miss. All your weight is put onto that 1 hand and you have to backtrack.
I don't miss much anymore, but when I used to frequently miss it was almost a gurantee that I'd fail.
You just have to be ready for anything, if you get to focused and then miss you won't realize in time and you won't be able to recover.
I think that was my main problem.

You could probably practice one handed globe grasps by just grabbing onto one and hang off of it as long as you can.

I think I would rather just fail the Globe Grasp because of a mistake on my part instead of failing because my hands were destroyed and unable to heal properly. Just saying, I'm not sure we quite get his perspective. Lennon, good idea. Also, pull-ups /chin-ups while holding them.

OR! Sorry.. getting into this. To make it more realistic and so you don't waste the time working on one-handed globe grasps. You could hold on one for about 10 - 15 seconds, and then try to get to the other one. Hold on just that one for about 10 - 15 seconds, and so forth. I don't know. It sounds like it could really help working on the globe grasp, but at the same time.. It sounds really hard. XD
