I'm sick of training alone. Strength training, alone. Handstands, alone. Tricking, alone. Running, alone.
Why does everyone near me have to be so stupid and ignorant toward training?
It's just... annoying.
/complaint
Anyone else put up with these shenanigans?

Why does everyone near me have to be so stupid and ignorant toward A very normal question to ask regardless of how you end it. There's no way to ask it without sounding like an arrogant prick, but most of us have asked it at some point about something. It's an unfortunate result of studying or learning about something at deeper than an introductory level. Suggestions on ways to cope(1) Find someone else with the same frustration that can commiserate. (2) Bacon. Well... in your case, I'd recommend #1 and not #2, and you're on that track already. I can't say I understand your specific situation, but I know the essence of the feeling nonetheless. Sorry about your frustration, dude.

Its because we have a unique goal. It's not a normal thing to train for, in fact, what we train for is quite unheard of. We're not specifically muscle training like the muscleheads at the gym. We're not training for gymnastics and handstands like stunt people do. Training for a 'gameshow' is not seen as normal, therefore only we, the dedicated, view it as normal. It's a hard thing to grasp, but take pleasure in the fact that we are more like the beginning of an idea

I'm not talking about Sasuke training, though. The only real Sasuke training I do is about once every two months when I go out and beat all my obstacles to prove to myself that I can still do them. I mean ANY physical training.
Nobody around me wants to go to the gym and strength train with me. Nobody is interested in hand balancing or tricking enough to actually drive themselves in it. Nobody will get up early and run on the track with me.
The only person I had who was as dedicated to their training as I am made the dumb mistake of joining the Army. Now he's trapped for four years, progressing in nothing but running.
I just don't understand how everyone my age in my area can be so content with being slow, weak and flabby. It's mind bobbling. I CANNOT comprehend it.

I can quite understand you...I've got the same problem. I started training for Sasuke only a month ago or so, even if I'll never manage to go there, but I also train for fencing. It could seem that I'm ok, I'm not the only one in the fencing gym, but there's nothing that can be done...all the other boys and girls go there only to have fun. I don't blame them, I have fun too, but only when it doesn't affect my training. I used to talk only with my fencing master an another elder girl while training in the past two years, because they were the only that ran with my speed or that did strenght training with me, while the others where playing or chatting. Now she is at University and my master doesn't train anymore because he works. Now I run alone...

Where do you live anyway?
With gyms, I generally just see either those muscleheads who just wanna bulk up for the sake of bulking up, people who go there to pretend to workout to look cool or meet some ladies, people who go there for a casual workout because they think they have to be at a gym to get one and the few people who do actual training.
Have you tried checking out a nearby University and seeing what kinds of clubs or teams train there and see if involves the things you do?
I'm sure you'll find some people to train with, if not in your area, maybe you can check out other places? What about a road trip, like some kind of quest around the country... the road to... find training?
With people being "slow, weak and flabby" just think of it this way, when a situation arises, you can have the satisfaction of being able to handle it while they'll be... slow, weak and flabby and almost entirely useless (no offense to them). You're constantly evolving while they're... de-evolving. There will always be people engaging in self-destructive behaviors whether they're actively doing something bad or just not doing anything, which is almost convenient because everyone else who even remotely cares about themselves doesn't have to do a thing as darwinism will work it's course and eventually catch up. But that may have sounded a tad bit mean.
What sets you apart from them is that you have actual goals and the discipline for it, so you'll go a long way and they'll just be... slow, weak and flabby (no offense to them again).

I'm in Mississippi. I also see that in gyms. People trying to get bigger or women trying to lose weight, neither of them doing their programs correctly. I'm yet to find anyone at my gym who does things properly. Some of them are close, but then they make fatal errors and I just walk away shaking my head. No university sports around here will involve handstands, climbing or lifting for strength, not bulk. The only real sport around here is football. I'm surprised we even have baseball here, honestly. Road trip is out of the question. It's a waste of time and money. I stay here where I have everything I need to train. Traveling will only spend my time and land me somewhere that may not have everything I need. The thought of everyone else being squishy is sort of funny, but they already look at me like I'm Jebus because I can backflip and jump off things without dying. If such simple things impress them, I'm not going to get much satisfaction out of doing more advanced things, like planche push-ups. I just want a person or two here that will keep up with me and motivate me more.

Time for everyone of us to move to the middle of the country and make our own town. We'll call it Sasukeville I can tell you that it's not just training I have a hard time getting people to do things with. I've always been into things most people scoff at(wrestling, comics, Sci-Fi, etc), so I've just gotten used to doing things on my own. Every now and then I'll see if I can get anyone to join me, but the usual case is I end up by myself(can't even get my wife to work out with me, how bad's that?). People are like electrons, they take the path of least resistance, so when it comes to molding your body, most will pass as "it's too much work." Hope you can find someone of like mind soon, but til then, you at least go us. Yes, that is a good thing

Do you know how many fights would go down in that town? BigBlind and Rider would go at it constantly. An online community doesn't really help. Not me, at least. I mean, a majority of the posters here don't train. Of the ones who do, I doubt many of them train intensely and REALLY push themselves. Plus, an online community can't come train with me.

But it's not the same as having a close friend or two to train with.
I mean, nobody here is a close friend of mine. BigBlind is the closest, just because we chat on Yahoo Messenger.

Well doesn't everyone in the south eat fried bacon, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, salad with chicken strips and bacon bits hold the greens? You should become a vegeterian and have even less in commin with everyone around you.
I have a similar problem myself living in the stoner party town of Santa Cruz, and being a total straight edge.
I do have some advice though, you could maybe but an add on craigslist for a training partner or something. Also are you as critical of people's training routines in person as you are in the forums? Because most people won't put up with that kind of thing.
Like it's ok to tell someone about a specific kind of training that works really well for you and see if they're interested, but if you tell someone they their training sucks they probably won't want to train with you. Or telling them that their wasting their time by building muscle and you're stronger than they are with less muscle. That kinda thing usually doesn't go over well.
I mean you seemed nice enough when we met in person don't get me wrong. Anyway goodnight it's 3am!

On the other hand, Oti, you don't have anyone to distract you from training YOUR way. When it comes right down to it, it's a solitary pursuit anyway. Hang in there.

No, David. I'm still honest with people about their training. I recently looked over my friend's football lifting routine and told him everything that was wrong with it. High school coaches.

I wish there where "Sasuke training parks" set up and run similar to skate-parks.
That way when your motivation gets low, you have a place to go and get fired up again and feel like part of a team.
When you're your own personal trainer you may go easy on yourself at times, but when you are with like-minded friends, you tend to push yourself farther as to not let them down.
