Was the dragon glider in 35 more further away and/or higher then the future tournaments. It certainly looked like it plus so many people couldn’t even touch the bar and now almost everyone at least touches the bar

Nah, it was new and nobody was used to it, then everyone went and trained on it so they became accustomed to it.

It actually highest in 35 but nobody realize;
36, 37, 41 are the same height; 38~40 is somehow simple that even Shingo cleared once.
