What surprised me is several people timed out while on the cargo net, it is like they had no urgency on some of the obstacles!
I was also suprised how many of them where gased by the time they hit the flying squirel.

Seems he's on social media again. He just posted on Instagram confirming what we have known for a couple months.. he's done. He will be missed from a fan side but as long as he is happy that is all that matters. Enjoy Geoff it was great to watch your run and that epic finger tip save on stage three was sweet enjoy you semi-retirement

It sucks how they make it seem like the competitors fall only because they're not prepared enough. It's a one chance thing, everybody slips somewhere! I'm glad Geoff didn't feel like he had to train harder for the show or whatever. He definitely deserves his break and I hope he has a great time with his family I loved his attitude everyone falls I got a family time to go take care of the important things. I am sure he trained because you are not getting far with out training on any serious obstacle course.

You know what annoys me? They say stuff like, "Women are just as strong as men". Well it's not said, but implied. And then they act like its a huge deal when a woman makes it to the 5th obstacle in qualifier. It completely contradicts the statement. The first statement is false they want to act like they are but it is not true but we can get on a entire sidebar of PC on why they regurgitate that kind of statement. Please do not take my statement as I hate the women blah blah blah because I rooted for several of the women to do while and am fans of several of them. I like Jessie a lot and she was the one I always pegged as the ability to clear stage 1 because she has a skill set to go with the height advantage. That is why Flex LeBreck is also going to be good she has height as while to go with her skill set. While the % of women competing is increasing and we are seeing more talented women then ever before I do not see stage 2 clears any time soon and I still do not expect women to routinely clear stage 1. I am sure only a handful will make it to city finals most years.

Man more surprising exit than I expected from some big names and it looked like Stratis shoulder was hurting he only tried to grab 1 handed on the second flying squirrel.

Did you see the preview for Vegas? Rather than the Bar Hopper, the Double Wedge could replace the flying bars, and if it doesn't I'd put it there. Imagine something like a Cliffhanger-Vertical Kai*-Hang Climb-Rolling Thunder-Double Wedge sequence on Stage 3. That would be deadly.
(* see Sasuke)
Anyway, can't wait for Vegas!! (and can't believe that season 8 is already almost over again... it feels like I watched the LA qualifiers just yesterday) I hate the wedge personally prefer the stair climb but yes it will be interesting to see what they have changed this year

It would be interesting to see the stair hopper as the final obstacle of stage 3, but I would make the whole thing tilt. Thus, unless you were constantly moving, the bar would slide right through the hole and you'd be done. What was quite surprising is I like many of the new obstacles this year my two favorite where the stair climb and the circuit board

So they don't belong on American Ninja Warrior nor Sasuke. Correct? They should GFTO of the television entertainment show. Is that what you are saying? It is still sexist considering that a lot of these women are better than some of the men on the exact same show. The fact that you are singling them out SIMPLY because they are women is sexist. You are not basing them off of merit, you are basing it because of gender. That.. is sexism. If they are better than some of the men then let them qualify the same way as the men do xD If you hate sexism then you should also be mad at the women's preferential treatment for wildcards. After all, once women get preferential treatment, then its still sexism, but towards the other gender. In truth Miksush is correct, if this was a sport then women really should gtfo because they have 0 chance of competing with the men. "But jessie is better than some men!!". Is Jessie better than Isacc? Nope. Just because the top 1% of women are better than the bottom 20% of men, it doesn't mean squat. If Serena Williams was in mens tennis then yeah, she would be rank 30 or something, but nothing special. So tennis made a female tour/league and that works nicely. I suspect ANW will follow suit Serena could not even beat a guy who was ranked 203 and he did not even warm up that is how far that gap is just like in the PGA the top women Golfer who won major after major in the LPGA could not even beat guys ranked in the bottom 100 in golf. The physical skill is a bigger gap then people want to admit. I like it the women are performing better in ANW it is good to see but the difference between the top females and the top males is a wide chasm a mild wide. On the wild card stated my view but at the end of the day someone is getting one and it is about ratings

Going with half plexiglass panels on Rolling Thunder was an improvement. Would still like to see no glass at all. Pleased that they referred to Geoff as the 1st ANW at least 4 times, I think. It's funny that Jessica looked a ton more stressed than Geoff during his run. There were some cool moments. Joe Moravsky one-stepping the steps. Najee Richardson slam dunking the Warped Wall. Jamie Rahn one-siding the Paddle Boards. Chris Wilczewski jumping over the bottom gap of Stair Hopper. Jesse Labreck qualifying for Vegas. Really surprised she fell when she did. The bar just seemed to pop out. Interesting that tonight's episode didn't show anyone mid-run. It was either full run or fast-forward. Jesse Labreck is going to be a top female for years she is only 26 and like Jessie she is tall for a woman 5-7 and she moves quicker on the course than most females and she is a rookie very impressive run from her. Put me down as a Flex fan her and Jessie are the females I see with the best chances to do more than most female competitors. Chris Wilczewski is a weird case the guy has flashed so much talent for years but wildly inconsistent this was the most focused I have ever seen him during a run. I agree about that jump on the stair hopper I will say I like the stair hopper it looks like a great one for stage three in the future to replace the flying bars

Yep I like the Pipe Stairs, would be a favored change from the Flying Bar AGAIN! They should have kept it named as Pipe Pyramid though Not sure what the "new technology" bit was about but interesting! Athos is part of the new wearable techonology for working out etc. Athos is super expensive the shirt and shorts system they showed is like $800. It is a step up from the fitbit and gymwatch or Push like combing the two and trying to get more data from more sensors built into the clothing. I knew what it was when the clip started I find the entire wearables industry fascinating and what is coming out in future growth. I am a tech guy (how I make a living) and a guy trying to get himself back into shape.

The wildcards do not bother me at all and historically it has been used on women the most; it is what it is but I would love them to do something different. I really think they should have a rule make it to stage three and you are automatic qualifier for next year and do not have to do the qualifier course but you have to make it stage three again to get that again that reduces down the wild cards but also opens up fresh blood and rewards the top talent that excel and get to stage three.
Just my view

Cambell going down on the obstacle he did was kind of shocking since David has been one of the most constient guys in ANW qualfyings.

Yet another bizarre episode. At least they showed all the finishes this time. Clinton shocked me. I don't know what sort of brain fart he had in qualifying, but to fall on the Tire Swing and then FINISH the damn course...also being the first one on the back half of the course and then just smashing it was incredible. Might be the ultimate comeback/sob story. Really hated the whole vibe of young guns kicking the veterans a**es, and it didn't help that the veterans didn't show up. Glad Jon Stewart helped put a little fight in the old guys. The way they've treated David Campbell is disgraceful. The whole night they talked about the rookies and sophomores "beating" him. By far the most egregious comment they made was when Gil was at the top of the tower, and they called David the "past". Like he's done. Like he's old s***. David probably trains twice as hard as most of these new guys. I hope he makes NBC look absolutely silly next year. Smashes the city finals course, smashes Stage 1. Hopefully, with having his full run being shown, they'll actually invite him back next year, even if just to paint a walker on him and pretend he's hobbling into the sunset. Honestly, as soon as he got shown after some other dude with a fluff-piece's run AND he got a fluff-piece to himself, which really only ended up making him look sillier, I knew he was going down early. I could barely watch. Seeing him in the same position on that mat as he was on the Silk Slider mat in ANW6 was just sickening. On a more positive note, Daniel Gil's fastest finish meant I predicted 3 of the top 5 finals finishers correctly . Also having just one dude fail the IL meant my pre-season prediction of 4 or less people failing the invisible ladder this season was correct . Why did they make the Tire Swing easier? I don't just wanna see David complete Stage 1. I wanna see him DESTROY MIDORYAMA. We need him to get past stage one first which he has not accomplished since ANW3. Heck I am hoping he gets a chance to get back to stage 1 next year

David's fail pretty much would be something SHINGO would do except not so simple. Feel sorry for him... Where and how did he fail? I missed it. Not where you would expect and it had that Cliffhanger vibe you know the year he had it beat and slipped at the end after he put his feet down mental error yea that type of mistake. I really like Grant Clinton's run. The log runner was brutal again tonight taking out a lot of people again like in qualifying.

Funny fact: all four men that competed in the final of Team Ninja Warrior are ANW8 city finishers. Nice did not realize that

I'd rather they just go back to the ANW5-6 Rolling Log instead of the one that rolls on the core... Also they tried the Rolling Escargot for ANW6 (Under the name "Spinning Wheel") and it went as badly as you'd expect I remember watching sasuke I think the first year they introduced the escargot and it destroyed the field that thing is just as brutal as the log.

did anything change on the rolling log it seemed to have taken out a lot of people that completed it before. Me personaly I hate the rolling log because I personally get dizzy easy and I know how bad it sucks and then to have to do a balance obstacle.
That is just me
