Two teams compete in physical challenges. Takes place in a studio set or lot. Some versions have multiple seasons per year, or multiple parts to a season, or a season that runs year-round. Similar format to early versions or seasons of Calle 7 (2009-2023) but uses different color schemes. Includes other bits like dancing and trivia. Esto es Guerra (EEG) began in Peru on April 2012 with 20 seasons ongoing. Also has versions in Bolivia (2015-2017), and Panama (2016-2018). Geurreros is a version from Colombia that began on August 2017 with 22 seasons, but nothing in 2023. Also has versions in Costa Rica (2017), Mexico (2020-2021), and Puerto Rico with 9 seasons ongoing (2019-2023). Combate is a completely separate franchise that began in Ecuador in 2010. EEG was accused of copying Combate. Also has versions in Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina, Guatemala, and Bolivia (can't find anything on that one). Most versions cancelled around 2016-2018. Guatemala still ongoing. Ecuador has a successor show to Combate called BLN la Competencia. Some players there have been on Calle 7 Ecuador and Combate Ecuador. EEG and Guerreros had crossover specials between their countries. Several players have appeared on other shows like Exatlon, Los 50, Desafio, and Reto 4 Elementos. Having spent a little over a week on these shows...
EEG and especially Combate are more variety show-like with lots of dancing and trivia and other silly bits. Guerreros also does this to some extent, but seems a little more focused on physical challenges.
The kinds of courses or challenges these shows do throughout each season feels very same-y, even though Guerreros does seem to have more interesting one-off obstacle challenges than EEG and Combate.
At a glance, these shows generally feel like they don't really go anywhere, until suddenly it's the final week. Guerreros seems to be earning points everyday at least, I think.
The lighting in a lot of these makes them very hard to watch. Some have lights that might be intense enough to trigger an epileptic seizure.
Many of these versions and seasons feel like they could've come out 10-20 years ago.
I don't know if I could handle another week of people speed-hopping over bars or climbing through donuts in a dim studio set with aggressive moving head lights.
My ideal version of these kinds of shows would combine Guerreros Mexico (outside, high climbing, almost Beastmaster-like challenges) + Guerreros Costa Rica (they used a bunch of Ninja obstacles) + C7 Panama/Paraguay (almost a sports-like focus on physical courses).

One version that somewhat stood out to me was Guerreros Costa Rica - Season 1 2017, which was cancelled after one season. It was notable because they actually used a bunch of Ninja-like obstacles. There was a salmon ladder, a curved wall, ring toss, pegboard across that ring toss board, a different up and down pegboard, hand stairs, swinging wheels, arm rings but on a single rail, hopping a ring up rail stoppers, unstable bridge shaped like an hourglass, floating boards but with climbing holds for your hands, really long angled steps, an archway monkey bar climb, and some red hanging holds with different shapes. I like that the set design isn't too busy. Still don't like that all these shows like to use so many distracting moving head lights. Like many of these formats, it generally feels like it's not really building toward anything for the bulk of it. If I had to describe this specific version - It's like they took the idea for an ANW 1-3 boot camp, but turned it into a whole 4 month long daily game show that came out 10 years too late, while forgetting to bring in more obstacles. The entirety of the show could've been reduced to a single month. --- Full season playlist of 85 episodes - www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy5skvO-mfXO5Q1V0a98gdjAlc2g7s_oq{Final two episodes...}

Another one that was a little interesting was Guerreros Mexico 2020-2021 (cancelled after two seasons). While the other shows used a single area, this show had three areas - the main arena, the outside long course with a pool section, and a really high crane setup that none of these other shows have. The crane sections kind of remind me of Beastmaster. {tire climb}
{log ladder climb}
{pole platforms}
{giant swinging jump}
{angled steps but really high up}
{tiny bridge with a rope}
{bike across a bridge with swinging bags}
{platform with logs}
{this thing}
