There will be some big names that withdraw due to COVID-19, and they do have replacement runners. If those replacement runners are shown, who knows. I don't know if I'm allowed to say who withdrew yet though, the names are big enough that ANW will have to announce it on Monday, similarly to what they did with Daniel Gil.

Heard from some sources (who do not want to be named) that NBC cut the total amount of episodes this season due to lack of interest from viewers. Vegas was meant to be four episodes, but was cut to three. I wonder how this will effect viewership. Once again I cannot state how I gathered this info to protect my internal sources. I also heard that special episode ideas have been put on hold or the shelf because of the flop that was their women's championship episode, and the poor ratings on the all stars competition.

I feel like these specials would be way more successful if they happen right after the season ends as a cool way to celebrate the season. They seem to happen at random times sometimes in the middle of winter. Sometimes I only watched it because I was lucky enough that the DVR recorded it.

Four Episodes so were 2 for Stage 1 and the last 2 for Stage 2/3 and maybe 4?

Three Ring Circus is a lazy obstacle design, feels like it should be in the qualifiers. Tetherball is messy (there has to be a way to clean it up) but otherwise has great potential. Rollercoaster, needs work. Imo it's not a great DD replacement.

Rollercoaster, needs work. Imo it's not a great DD replacement. Tetherball is not only boring but horrible for TV. Makes you dizzy to watch. Now that the episode airs I can give some inside knowledge (it's not result spoilers) Stage 1 Was taped between two nights, this is because Obstacle 3 kept breaking. Over 15 ninjas that failed said broken obstacle got re-runs on night two (many of which cleared like Kaden Lebsack for example) Also Najee is not running either. I heard alternates were used but even if they did run, I'm pretty sure NBC would just all cut them

Do you think ANW will Continued? Why Do Obstacles Break. ANW likely will have at least another season to hit that 15 mark, but it might be questionable past that. But as we've said for a long time, the show is actually very cheap to do. In theory could just be a Peacock exclusive at this point.

ANW obstacles are not built like Sasuke, they are cheap and venerable to breakage. Just look at them no structural framework just some peices of metal, rope and a few nuts and bolts. Now onto the episode.
I like Tetherball, the obstalce was unique and tricky. The second obstacle I just don't like, why do you have an obstacle 18 feet in the air where people could land badly in the water for literally no reason. That obstacle could have been 10 feet lower and had the same effect.
Really removed the Double Dipper for the roller coaster, that was worse.
Jumping spider and warped wall stayed the same.
The first obstacle works for me.
They should remove the ring swing and force people to catch the right as the last obstacle then lower the time limit by 40 seconds and force people to actually move fast. I'm tired of these ridiculously long time limits. Let us have less than 10 stage 1 clears, stage one should not be a walk in the park.
American ninja warrior needs new management.

I'd prefer if the Circle Slider part of Circus was the same kind of swing as the first part for the sake of repetition and visually to fill more of that empty space over the water. Maybe to another disc or not, but raise the landing platform to make the last swing feel more difficult.
Tetherball is really slow, but I like that it has a secondary way to get through if you miss doing it with the rope. Especially since getting back to it and climbing up doesn't seem like an easy thing to do.
It's the type of obstacle where the landing mat is something you might have to fight to get on or stay on even if you have a good handle on the rope. It also provides a bit of contrast to all the one-shot type obstacles.
I like that RJ used his first contact with the mat to accelerate harder and wider around again. I feel like other competitors would've tried to land it the first time around at that speed and distance and it would've been close with some barely hanging on the corner.
On Fly Hooks, RJ would've been disqualified on any other show when his foot tapped the edge of the platform on the backswing.
We also got the Jody Avila method of catching the mat with your crotch.
And Donovan surf hopping the Sliding Steps gave me a chuckle.

Like Covid is some bad word or something that they couldn't say on TV. (And like we didn't all know what they meant anyway.)
