I'm probably really late to the party but I just noticed Takeda's started posting again after a long-a** hiatus (for obvious reasons). Had no idea he's got a new kid now too, assuming that it is his. He's also been posting videos about his memories with each All-Star, though I can't translate any of what he's saying. On the whole seems as though he's recovered well from his heart problem (if that's what it was) though I can't tell how physically able he is through any of these recent videos. I really dont think he will ever take on the course. I dont see a reason why you would risk your health over just an obstacle course, not everyone is Yamada.

Noticed he was reuploading a little while ago now, and was also surprised by his new daughter. Happy for him and hope he's doing well. He looks great.
I'd like to say if there's one thing I know about Sasuke retirements, it's that they're not necessarily permanent. The difference here is that Takeda was actually forced to retire for the serious sake of his own health. No matter what though he'll still always have a special place in my heart.

I've not really been looking at them as of late just because I felt what I said to him hurt him a bit. I still appreciate all he's done but it's probably a good thing he's stepping down from SASUKE.

Yeah as much as I would’ve liked to see him continue his surprising renaissance it’s definitely for the best given the circumstances under which he retired. A heart issue is a real warning sign to take it easy for the next few months or years, and sadly training for Sasuke doesn’t really adhere to that. Nah Yamada never seriously injured himself, or at least as seriously as Takeda did, but if a situation like this hasn’t convinced someone like Kanno to reevaluate his priorities then I don’t know what to say.
It is nice to see him going over fond memories with his fellow All-Stars, he’s clearly really sad to have finally fully retired. Especially as he nearly retired after Sasuke 17, and probably considered it during his hiatus where he was promoted in his firefighting regiment, but to get forced to do so at a time when he was only just coming back to his former glory must’ve been tough. I’d also assume the heart issue was sudden given that he seemed completely healthy and fit before it happened then just suddenly went MIA for months. The fact that it supposedly came out of nowhere just makes the whole situation way more tragic for his career, as he probably felt more motivated than ever after 38 and then just suddenly it’s all lost.
^What did you say to him?

They can do a trick in SASUKE 40: Still let Takeda compete, and slowly cleared the first few obstacles . There's about 39 seconds left I bet. Then, find a similar person that younger than Takeda and wear the exact same clothe, let this person to challenge Dragon Glider and tackle. Of course, they will use Photoshop to put Takeda’s face on the replacement man; Finally, at the second wall, Takeda try to be weak at there, and touch the wall at the last 10 seconds and failed. Then the logan will typed [Takeda Toshihiro retired] and take the sad face for Takeda. In Japanese it is: 「史上最強の消防士 オールスターズ竹田 無念の引退……」

I don’t think photoshopping Takeda’s face on a random dude is going to work on a HD TV show lol. I wouldn’t be adverse to a Takeda impersonator, but preferably someone who’s actually a real firefighter preferably from Gifu and could do well. Not like the guy who impersonated Akiyama lol, he was funny for about 3 seconds but then just became yet another annoying joke competitor who I was waiting to fail.

It really did come left field. I legitimately thought his shoulder went out again, but heart surgery was defo a surprise. Then again he does chain smoke which smoking has been known to have detrimental risks/effects on the heart and other parts of your body (never touched a cigarette, never will) so I wouldn't be surprised if that at least contributed.

I’m fairly sure he doesn’t actually smoke. Being seen smoking at social events doesn’t make you a chain smoker, Kanno’s old Facebook pic was of him smoking and i’m fairly sure given his dedication to Sasuke he wouldn’t habitually or regularly do something that would’ve affected his chances. Also, Takeda’s two jobs have been firefighter and gym owner; the former im pretty sure you’re not allowed to smoke, and the latter obviously wouldn’t be a good look for his brand. Also, to get to the stage where you need heart surgery as a result of smoking, you would pretty much need to smoke 40 a day for years on end, which he clearly didn’t do as he was still really fit and active prior to his surgery. He would’ve lost his ability to run or even walk for long well before needing surgery, if chain smoking was the cause. Edit: I also used to smoke when I was in high school/university and there’s no way you can get serious cardiac issues without being physically debilitated stamina and lung capacity wise years prior, which Takeda clearly wasn’t.

I have wondered ever since I heard the true nature of the surgery what could have caused it. I think it could be due to the number of shoulder surgeries he's had before; apparently the incidence rate of post-surgery atrial fibrillation can be as high as 26% even following non-cardiac related surgeries. That's the only presumption I have, unless he's really unlucky genetically or something. Apparently his symptoms weren't immediately life threatening (most likely feeling dizzy after exercise or having palpitations) as it took him a month since they started to actually get checked up, and his surgery was meant to be late September but got pushed back to November (hence why he missed Sasuke 39 as that's when it taped). He's fine now obviously but he can still get bad relapses if he trains heavily, which is obviously required for Sasuke which I presume was the main reason he retired. Just glad he didn't like have a heart attack or major issue prior to his surgery.

Definitely during the time he did the 100 day training thing on his Youtube, he and I got quite close. It was a fun time but I guess all good things have to come to an end. It sucks but I just have to accept it and hope he's doing ok now.

I hope Takeda looks after his health and doesn't push himself too hard. Honestly, I get just as much enjoyment out of seeing the All-Stars on the side-lines as I do seeing them run the course. I don't mean that as an insult, either -- I really like seeing the All-Stars and love that they're still involved in the show. They shouldn't feel like they have to compete to please their fans. Just being there and being themselves is enough.
