I’ve been looking at Darvish’s Instagram recently.
He used to regularly post training videos throughout the year; ever since Sasuke 39 he’s just stopped posting about anything to do with Sasuke. It’s kind of similar to Shunsuke as well, where he stopped completely after like Sasuke 37, and that seemed to be in line with his almost vanished interest for training or engaging with the community even.
I made a comment about this before and then got blasted with the idea that competitors don’t always have to post about Sasuke and they have lives outside of the show. Yes, I completely get that and I’m not suggesting otherwise, it’s just correlation is causation and if a competitor who used to post a lot of Sasuke related content is no longer doing so, especially after a few bad runs which obviously dishearten continued effort towards training, then one could easily assume that said competitor is starting to lose interest following their string of bad luck.
With that in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if Darvish retires in the next couple of years provided his results don’t pick up (which they easily could as most of his failures have been due to external circumstances, but talking hypothetically); yes, he’s paid to be there, but as annoying as I find him he is a serious competitor and I doubt he’s going to want to stick around if he continues failing the First Stage regardless of how much he’s paid, out of a matter of pride more than anything else. Besides, I feel as though Inui is slowly but surely sidelining him in favour of Snow Man, which no doubt is going to further affect his attitude towards the sport.

Well yeah, Snow Man is younger (and more and likely "hip" with that kind of audience) and his results have been better as of late. I personally think it might be a bit too early to pick him off as a waning interest fellow, but I can't say I blame him given the aforementioned external circumstances.
If any I think Tsukada is falling more and more into the waning interest category. He's barely invested in the show at all it seems and bar 38 he also hasn't really had any robbery fails either. TBS seems to have also lost faith in him from what I can tell, which given IMO his only two clears were out of pure luck due to having ridiculously lenient time limits that he still barely beat the stage with anyway I guess I can't really blame them.
If Darvish continues to show a further decrease in posting I might begin to agree, but right now I'd put him in the pending category for interest. I do however believe he might've been somewhat discouraged by having all that bad luck, and as we've seen with Ryo and Yuuji discouraged =/= done for. That all said, the guy is now in his 40s which isn't very old, but still.

Tomohiro, Takeda and Nagano (maybe Shingo) would clear the First Stage in my opinion.

Well, the answer is: First time clear: Oshima Ayano New Black Tiger Takasuga (rookie) Stephanie Fujita(the rugby guy) Oliver (rookie) Cleared Stage 1 after blank: Nagasaki Shunsuke Tsukada Ryoichi Kawaguchi Tomohiro Yamamoto Shingo Kane Kosugi (a 21 years blank return and still cleared Stage 1) Many people didn't get it right! Even I did some predict wrong!
