Oh so that is why they are changing. Well anyway, can someone explain me how exactly would Sasuke be a part of modern pentathlon. Olympians would run the whole course? Or is it just First Stage and who makes it further/completes in shortest time?

Wow, this feels... surreal. Like, I genuinely feel like I'm in a dream or something. Regardless, fairly exciting.

Or is it just First Stage and who makes it further/completes in shortest time? So they want to have an obstacle course as one of the five components of the pentathlon. I imagine they'll just have something more akin to the Ninja Warrior qualifier/semi-finals courses. No way they're going to make all of Sasuke one of the five events, as that would highly dwarf the other four in comparison.

So what they are going to do is replace the equestrian and change it to a obstacle course based on sasuke ninja warrior. They are taking obstacles from all stages by the translation from. Tbs and testing it today and tomorrow in Turkey at the world championship and from 2028 they will have a set design in time for the LA games

Maybe just trial courses then.

As far as I understand TBS is also highly connected to some of the other Ninja Warrior derivatives in certain countries in Asia. Anyway I just meant I imagine the course will be about the size of a Ninja Warrior semi-finals course and like the mixture of upper and lower body obstacles.

Now that I think about it, maybe some countries would have ninjas appear there, tho fencing is a thing. Maybe they should also have obstacle course as a standalone sport which would then mean all ninjas in the world compete in one competition. Its USA vs The World but its not biased.

Or is it just First Stage and who makes it further/completes in shortest time? Having read up on the proposal, it would be a hybrid of the First and Second Stages featuring a version of the Quintuple/Sextuple Steps, Swing Ladder, Wall Flip, Wind Chimes, Tyre Run, Rope Swing, and the Warped Wall to finish. As for how the points system would work, my best guess is that it would work exactly how ANW scores its Qualifiers and Semi-Finals - Which obstacle, if any the runner failed at, and secondly, how quickly they reached the obstacle on which they failed. In any case, this really does feel like the perfect opportunity for both the pentathlon and Sasuke to gain a lot on the way of cross-promotion - Sasuke gains a new and dedicated competitor pool to draw from and a great way to catch new interest - "Team [COUNTRY]'s next athletes battle it out on Mt. Midoriyama!" is a marketing goldmine, and the Pentathon gains an easy way for casual fans to get into the sport and become fans of its stars theough an evergreen and incredibly accessible source. If this proposal does go through, it could be well be the shot in the arm that both franchises so desperately need right now. Also, if it does happen, something tells me that Inui may not need to worry about "budgetary cuts" if the JAAF get involved lol.

Only 20 countries have Ninja Warrior competitions and apart from ANW, none of them have huge following outside of those countries, including Sasuke.

Since it's one part of a pentathlon, then it will probably feel closer to OCR in terms of pacing.

This news announcement from 5 weeks ago has more about the test event and course, but we don't know exactly what will be in it after yesterday's TBS announcement which mentioned another 4 obstacles. www.uipmworld.org/news/new-5th-discipline-update-test-event-launchedThe standalone Obstacle Discipline competition will involve two to four athletes racing each other over a course up to 100 meters long, with up to 10 obstacles. There will be separate categories for Under 19, Junior and Senior pentathletes – and another for experienced Obstacle Discipline athletes. Ascending steps Rope swing 1.5m wall Monkey bars Offset steps 0.5m low crawl Rings rig Under-over-under-over Wheels rig Balance beam Angled ladders Finish ‘Tsunami’ curved wall June 27: Practical explanation / free training session June 28: Qualification / Finals

This video shows the course. I counted 11 obstacles, but 3 of them are side by side on the same rig. There might be 12 obstacles if the ascending/descending rope ladder at the beginning is usable. http://instagr.am/p/CfT1WzOg4Xe

This version of the course changed 3 things - Locked the Parallel Pipes (which are just Monkey Bars that spin), replaced Wall Flip with a bar you hop over, and kept only the rings in the rig that had 3 different paths removing Wind Chimes and Globe Grasper.
They've also added the TBS banners.
