Why am I not surprised that Sasuke 19 had no best results by start position lol?
Just a question: are you assuming that if two competitors failed on the same/equivalent obstacle, regardless of how far they made it down that obstacle, that it still counts as a joint best performance for that number? Nagano clearly went farther in Sasuke 11 than Kanno did in 23, with both wearing #96 for example, same with Kongu in 24 vs Ryo in 30 wearing #94, etc. If it is then there's some inconsistency, given that by that logic #77 should also be added to Sasuke 12 given that Bunpei reached the top of the rope climb wearing that number. Otherwise, I suppose it's fair given that otherwise the thread will become an endless argument of who's finger went an inch farther lol.
Other things to point out: - I'd say Hioki takes the win in 37 for #60; he made it to the fourth out of six obstacles, whereas Hashimoto only made it to the fourth out of seven, so technically Hioki made it farther despite the two obstacles being equivalents of each other. - Asaoka technically takes the win for #80 in Sasuke 14; not many people know this but the Jumping/Climbing Bars and Devil Balanco didn't technically count as obstacles in 14, similar to the Brick Climb (this changed for 15-17) so Asaoka would've reached the fourth/six obstacles, compared to Lee's fourth/seven in 25. - I'm also pretty sure you need to add #37 to Sasuke 38 as well; that's one of the only 10 numbers who's never cleared Stage 1, and Suzuki literally timed out by a second.

SASUKE 10, I am not surprised at all, considering that:
1) For all 5 competitors who cleared Stage 1, in order to better the previous best for their number, they had to essentially clear the Stage that the previous best fell on. Kenichi Arai fell on the Spider Walk, whereas the best for #78 timed out on the Wall Lift. And idenitcally.....
2) For the 4 competitors(Daisuke Nakata, Hiroyuki Asaoka, Naoki Iketani, and Katsumi Yamada) who reached Stage 3, all 4 basically had to clear the Third Stage(And in Asaoka and Yamada's cases, clearing the Spider Climb as well):
Nakata(#40): Eichi Miura, Pipe Slider in SASUKE 4 Asaoka(#54): Tatsuya Yamamoto, 8 Meters up the Rope Climb in SASUKE 3 Iketani(#61): Makoto Nagano, Pipe Slider in SASUKE 9 Yamada(#100): Akira Omori, 8 Meters up the Rope Climb in SASUKE 3

Sasuke 10,18,19,21,26, and 35 are the only tournaments not to have a Best result. In most cases, there were almost no breakout runs due to Stage One being a bloodbath.

That's a good point regarding breakout runs. Most of the best results for lower numbers (except those from the earliest tournaments where the numbering system almost didn't exist) were from breakout runs i.e. competitors who weren't considered worthy of a high number due to being unproven, but ended up doing really well.

Impressive work compiling this lol Not trying to steal the spotlight, but myself and several other long-time members of the Sasuke community have had documents similar to this one (as well as about additional Sasuke statistics) for years, and we update them following new tournaments. I may put/edit them on Google Docs/Sheets at some point in the future, in the event that there is interest (they are all currently only local files on my end).
