Who do you think is the competitor who’s most often forgotten about despite them being really successful in Sasuke?

Hashimoto Kouji. God, he's 38 now. Can't believe he retired at like not even 30 years old.

Yeah apparently he retired for not wanting to have the Shin Sedai pressure even though he basically got cast out of the group for failing Stage 1 in 28 lol. But yeah he could’ve easily been a 3rd Stage regular had he kept competing for sure. My pick, not counting the competitors who appeared like once in the first few tournaments cos they’re super irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, would probably be Kobayashi Masaaki. Making Stage 3 in your first three tournaments is no small feat but he was almost completely skipped or fast forwarded.

Kawaguchi Tomohiro, incredible strength and power, just poor technique lets him down.

Naoya Tajima. Dude obliterated Stage 3 and thanks to the rest of his career being mediocre runs and that one good run being overshadowed by 5 finalists I feel he really faded into obscurity. Only 5 tournaments and he left a pretty good impression. He arguably would've went to the final had he not kerfuffled the Gliding Ring. Nowadays he seems to have just vanished.
