Thank goodness!
I'll make sure to pray that at the very least he has one more stage 3 run in him for next tournament, win or lose.

He has a youtube channel!? I guess I know what I'm watching. Quite a few SASUKE competitors got new YouTube channels. Masashi Hioki, Tomohiro Kawaguchi, Shogo Ugajin, Jun Sato (may not be very new), and Shingo Yamamoto!

Wasn’t he an OG All-Star?

Wasn’t he an OG All-Star? Yes, he was. The All Stars are him, Shingo Yamamoto, Makoto Nagano, Katsumi Yamada, Kazuhiko Akiyama, and Bunpei Shiratori.

Wasn’t he an OG All-Star? Yeah. He's only been absent for one tournament though due to a shoulder injury, but he wasn't sure if he'd return.

Yeah, he mentioned his injury may have been the end for him but it seems now he's going back on that. If any good news he has PLENTY of time for the shoulder to heal.

So I thought the All-stars were forced to retire? Or do you guys think it was Nagano’s and Yamada’s idea?

So I thought the All-stars were forced to retire? Or do you guys think it was Nagano’s and Yamada’s idea? They were called to retire around 7-8 years ago during Sasuke 28. They all failed on Stage 1, but Inui ended up lifting the retirement the very next tournament due to Takeda asking and fan response. Since then Nagano officially retired after 32, Shiratori (the oldest and most injured) hasn't been seen after 30, Yamada has stopped since his run in 33 and now just trains young people, and Akiyama never came back for an official run after 28. It's safe to say those four will never run again at this point. Shingo and Takeda are the youngest at 45 y/o.

Thank goodness. I thought he would inherit the Bunpei curse (retiring/having a long hiatus due to injury), but I'm glad he didnt. I'm still a little shaky about all the arm obstacles of the first stage (dragon glider, wing slider, tackle, soritatsu kabe). Also, even if he does make it back to stage two, I'm still concerned about the Salmon Ladder Nobori / Kudari (I really want him to at least get revenge on it after being so close in 33 and 34).

If the All-Star retirement after 2012 did have to go as planned, then I definitely wouldn't have thought about them by now. Thank goodness they are still allowed to participate as for them being historical to the show, makes them really fun to keep watch competing.
