Seven years ago, SMF Reality split fourteen contestants into two tribes of seven and forced them to endure the virtual elements of flash games, create and break social bonds and vote out friends, allies and enemies all in the name of becoming the Sole Survivor.
Seven years later, we return to a new island, the land of Discord. And while some things change, others stay the same. Welcome to SMF Survivor 2! That's right, this season's Survivor will take place on a Discord server I created just for this specific game. That said, this is still a SMF-banner game, so everyone on SMF is welcome to sign up. But that doesn't mean this is exclusive to SMF members -- if you know someone who wants to participate, have them contact me via here or Discord and we'll figure something out.
For those unfamiliar with the rules of Survivor, everyone is split into two different even numbered teams. Those teams will compete against one another in various challenges, some flash game based and some that will take place live in the challenge area in-chat (when available). The tribe with the highest combined scores will win Immunity for that round. The other tribe will meet with me at Tribal Council where someone will be voted out of the game. Prior to the merge, once you are voted out of the game, you will be removed from the server.
Once a certain number of people have left the game, the two tribes will be merged with whatever players are remaining to make one single tribe -- the game becomes one of individuals at that point, although previous relationships may still help further your game. Or, you can attempt to create new ones. It's all up to you. Immunity Challenges also become Individual Immunity Challenges -- the winner is the sole person who obtains Immunity for that round and can't be voted out. Everyone else will be fair game. Players voted out during the merge portion of the game will become a member of the Jury -- the group of people who decides the winner of the game come Final Tribal.
Of course, what would Survivor be without advantages? They will be scarce and may take some considerable effort to find but the one most often to be used is the Hidden Immunity Idol. Once played at Tribal Council, any votes cast for you that round will not count.
Survivor all in all, is a social game. Just as easy as it is to become a tight knit group, it's just as easy to exile someone...and you never know the consequences that can come from an exiled castaway.
Now that the fun hype is out of the way, here's some of the housekeeping:
- This game will last for some time; the previous season lasted about a couple months. On a place like Discord, this can be quicker or longer depending on how life comes into play. If you sign up, please do your best to stay committed to the game for as long as you're in it.
- While there are in-chat challenges planned, the majority of the games will be flash game based. Due to the less than mobile-friendly nature of many flash games, this may not be the game for you, sad to say.
- You must have a Discord account to participate. However long you have had the account does not matter, but while I plan to write recaps of sorts on here to keep this thread active, all gameplay will take place in the server.
To sign up, please PM me here or DM me on Discord (my account is TCM#5996) with the following information:
- Your Discord username (similar to like how mine is posted, I need the account number as well as the full name to be able to find you)
- Your current country you reside in (I don't necessarily need where you're from specifically, you're welcome to share that)
- The timezone your country currently is using (for example, I live in the Central Daylight Time due to Daylight Savings)
- Why you think you will be successful in Survivor?
- Do you have any previous online forum/reality game experience? (None is required, just curious)
If you think you have what it takes, sign up now! I'm looking for 14-16 contestants. I can work with 12, but 14 as a minimum would be ideal.
