We are through the qualifiers for season 10 and the first city final. Ta this paint, if I remember correctly, the 14''6" warped wall has been failed twice. Both times by ninja's who attempted the Mega Wall.
While there were a couple competitors who took more than one attempt to complete the current warped wall, for the most part it does not seem to be a significant obstacle for most ninjas anymore.
Is it time to increase the height of the wall for qualifying and moving on to the back half of the course?

Making it taller is a safe move but yeah neve been an impact to the creativity and persona of the show . New obstacle would be impossible as WW is the soul of sasuke

Did somebody say.... Great Wall? Please! Dunno if it'd pass health-and-safety though :/ I was thinking about making a 15' Wall, but then realized that that'd prevent most women from clearing, which is exactly what they don't want (even though two women will move through anyway). Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the producers dug themselves into a deeper hole and introduced the "Women's Wall" *sarcastic clapping* So I do think 15' is too much, but then I don't want a 14' 9'' Wall, as that'd sound stupid

I feel the warped wall is too iconic to go away. I like how they introduced the mega wall to make it a bit more interesting in qualifying. But I feel at a certain height it would no longer be capable to be beaten even with great technique by smaller competitors so making the regular one bigger just wouldn't work.

I don't want the wall to be unbeatable, just more of a challenge that it currently seems.
What might be interesting is to keep the current height and but have a curved ramp down from the 5th obstacle and shorten the run up to make it more like the Stage 1 Warped Wall.

Keep it as it is. While the top ninjas have no trouble with it, it is still a big part of training and an achievement to beat it during training. It is iconic and should remain.

You can't slide down if you jump backward too much then u just drop on an angle and break your ankle etc

hmmmm if only there was an obstacle that could be put before the warped wall that has been proven to tire competitors' legs out on another show
oh wait the prestegious course designers over at ATS could never be allowed to deviate from the stale course formula the show has used for the last many years now, and even if they did, they'd never be able to implement a Tackle that would work for both men and women, since I think it's debatable that qualifiers have been nerfed as of late to allow for more female clears
Edit: Thinking back on this I should probably say I don't even think the new WW set up should be changed, I don't think there's much of a problem with the Wall being cleared so easily as long as that new tall one is in place. Plus the Tackle would get very boring, but I think it would be a better addition to Stage 1, which also has a Sasuke 27-esque formula that hasn't changed in, uh, ever

I am not sure if anyone else notices, but they have been making the warped wall harder in other ways then adjusting the height. Just by looking at course photos from season six and seven and comparing them to the double wall setup in season 10, the run-up before the wall has decreased by a LOT. Some competitors used to get 3-4 paces in as a run-up, but now it looks to me like they can only get 2. (Edit: Looks like the wall run-up was just as short when they increased the height of the wall in season 8, so they changed the run-up length after Isaac and Geoff)

Make an easier qualifier overall (like they used to) and have top 30 move on, fastest times. Keep Mega Wall. Make so that if you had a medium pace run through the first five obstacles, you can go for Mega Wall but if you don't get it, your time may put you at risk. :/ Just an idea.

You mean have a half pipe runup. I can read, might want to articulate better? (had to passive aggressive back cuz you know internet lol)

(had to passive aggressive back cuz you know internet lol) To be fair, I probably came back a bit too aggressively lol. What I'd want is the wall and mega wall to be the same as this year in the qualifiers but then in the finaks the wall has the 'half-pipe run-up' as you called it, like in Vegas.

You start getting into the territory of making it impossible for some of the shorter competitors, but on the other hand I have little sympathy for them because no larger competitor could beat stage 3. I never understood the argument that something is bad just because a certain body type can't beat it. (Never mind that Barclay Stockett, who is also five foot nothing, can make it up the 14.5 foot wall.) This is a competition that requires a very specific set of physical attributes to run, and most people, often through no fault of their own, don't have those attributes. Should basketball hoops or volleyball nets be lowered so shorter people can play those sports professionally? Should horse racing be done with Clydesdales so you don't need to be tiny to be a jockey?

You just supported my point, do you want ninja warrior to ONLY have a specific size a competitor like horse racing, volleyball and basketball? Or should they focus on making a bunch of really unique cool series of challenges for a wider range of competitors? Already annoyed that they have women's brackets, but if you take warped wall and make it taller and difficult it will drastically hurt ALL the women biologically they just do not develop the same explosive muscles guys do. Guys are women on steroids (literally) and most people agree that men shouldn't complete against men doing steroids. At that point we'll just get an easier course for the women, because of 1 obstacle (which I might add some of the women have trouble with that are the "top" women look at KAcy Rothschild almost failing it while training at Drew's gym and having access to it etc)
