The trailer for season 2 of Beastmaster is up. Show goes live on December 15th. It looks like there are a lot of new obstacles this time around, including a completely redesigned Level 4. That's good because Level 4 needed the most work. Looks like the point thrusters are now triangle buttons. The new USA hosts are Tiki Barber (former NFL player) and Chris DiStefano (comedian). ew.com/tv/2017/11/08/netflix-ultimate-beastmaster-season-2/

Survivor has a smaller cast but larger location but UB has a larger cast and smaller location.. but yes like Survivor where there's a new set of people each season. Remember also that Season 3 is already taped (back in September) and that had a slightly different cast with more countries but less slots (meaning there were the same amount invited just less per country). This season 2 should be similar to Season 1 in terms of format.

I f***ing can't stand the French host dude and the fact that he's a nobody here. Chances are I'll be pirating the US version anyway so I won't see too much of him but still.

Will this also be the results discussion thread? Asking so I can link this in the general thread.

This looks good, hope they sorted the rules out this time though!

I don't think the rules are changing much. Remember that this was taped the same year as Season 1 and before Season 1 aired and had feedback. Season 3 was the one that radically changed with the addition of a lot of other countries, smaller country teams, etc. So I expect more of the same in terms of format similar to season 1. That said, seems the quality of athletes was higher.

Anyone else notice that Level 1 splits into two paths? If you look closely you can see that the final obstacle is either the Mag Wall or a variation of the Bungee Beds.

That's a cool way to shake things up😁 I see a lot of returning obstacles but also plenty of new ones in the trailer, which is great. Wonder if this means they'll swap some obstacles out and all episodes won't have the exact same obstacles? Or maybe it's that they have several split-paths where you can choose to take on an old or newer obstacle?!

EDIT: Actually it'd have to be 12 to keep it even in each episode too right?

EDIT: Actually it'd have to be 12 to keep it even in each episode too right? Season 2 (which is this current thread) didn't change in format from Season 1. They just swapped out countries. Season 3 (which for now is being discussed in the catch all Beastmaster thread and presumably will be aired much later next year since Season 2 is about to air) changed formats where there are more countries but less contestants from each country on each team. The overall size of the athlete pool is the same but the amount per team is less thus accommodating the additional countries involved. For now please keep that question on the other thread since this is about to get busy in a couple weeks.

Comes out on Friday. William and I will be doing a podcast on it once we get time to marathon the whole thing. Also if things go well we may be able to get an interview with someone on the production staff. In anticipation of that let me know if you have questions and I'll put them on the list in hopes some of the might get answered. In the meantime William put out his predictions video up!

Early thoughts from ep 1: Hosts are a lot better. Still doing the whole USA chant but not as bad as before. {Spoiler}Stage one had really good changes. One it seemed more thought out def.
Stage 2 is the same, blah. I don't like the first obstacle. I feel like height plays a huge factor on if you succeed on that or not, which is lame. And doing the gears to the tunnel is rather dangerous all around. I'll be surprised if there isn't more injuries on this one. I take back what I said, the gears into the tunnel is a lot safer than before now that I see it in action. And an early finisher in stage 2. Wow. Also seems to be a new rule cause last season you could fall down the first obstacle and as long as you were still on it you were in but as soon as you fall now on that one you're out.
At about 23:36 you can hear someone in the background (has to be from team USA) go "wow what an idiot" ahaha
Stage 3 looks like there's no second path this time. And lots of obstacle changes too. Let's begin! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I really like hang man. That is a clever obstacle. I feel stage 3 is a lot tougher than before. So far I like it a lot better than last season. You have to get a good speed on the track to be able to even do the transfer on the second obstacle and boy that will be a killer this season. As a quick note, this all was recorded in pretty cold weather from the looks of it so that must play a big factor in a lot of this. That is crazy France got both spots on the first ep ahaha. Bassa was closeeeee to getting the wall. Wow what a run.
Ok flat out I love this stage 4 wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. The og stage 4 was a higher advantage for climbers and this one does a good job at getting rid of that. This is what stage 4 should've been and wow is it tough. I love this way better than Sasukes stage 4 too. Wow what an ending. This was a really good ep. Wow. Def hooked now.
