I'm in favor of time limits for Stages 1 and 2 in Vegas. But what should they be? I'm not in the camp that Stage 2 has to be a sub-minute sprint, but this 4 minute BS has to stop. If Stage 1 is about explosive speed and movement, Stage 2 should be about explosive strength. Thus, Stage 1 should never be above 2:30 and Stage 2 should never be above 2:15 IMO. Really, the only thing carrying Stage 2 into the 4 minute category is the second to last obstacle. In my opinion, that obstacle should be the most exciting, but it should be a one-shot obstacle. The Metal Spin, Roulette Row, and even the Hourglass Drop are what I would consider one-shot obstacles. They could be considered cheap, but generally are skill-dependent. We need more of these types in Stage 2, because they would be exciting and also be quick. Thoughts?

Both stages should really only take 2 minutes max.

I would agree generally with 2:00-2:30 as a max for Stage 1. But IMO, Stage 2 has always had something game-breakingly wrong with it in ANW, especially when it eventually turned into a Stage 3A-type marathon, just with a time limit almost no one times out on. Some of the clears have been close calls, but a decent number of those are because they were celebratory strides to the end. And of course, what TVTropes would call Hand of God that ANW 4 had interfere. I would love seeing the challenge of them actually having to go full tilt for a shortish burst of time.

You know Roulette Row may not have been a great obstacle but it is made better because of the Double Wedge and The Wingnut Gauntlet At least that can be tackled with speed kinda like how Joe finished Stage 2 in 68 seconds during the All-Star special.

I loved Roulette Row. I wouldn't be sad if it came back.

Honestly they should make Stage 2 a speed course not just a wannabe stage 3. If you think about it should be for Stage 2 first half is very much upper body and the second half is all speed. So they need that direction again and stop putting stage 3 obstacles in stage 2.

Yeah, I concur about stage 2. I always thought that each stage in Sasuke had its own purpose, and stage 2 always seemed to be that it was a manic sprint to the finish. It's the total opposite for ANW and that's frustrating.

Well came up an idea for the second to last obstacle for Stage 2: Pole Maze Oneshot obstacle that should be tricky enough to take your time hehe

You mean the Pole Maze from Sasuke? That's more like a ten-shot obstacle I feel like the Pole Maze would make a fair fourth obstacle of Stage 2 for a year. Stage 1 should go from 1:45-2:15 and Stage 2 1:20-1:50 IMO

Honestly, I'm fine with long 1st Stages, even up to like 2:30 (if Proto SASUKE is any indication). On the other hand long 2nd Stages drive me nuts, and I'd like to see it as a speed stage at ~1:30 give or take.

Neither of the first 2 stages should be more than 2:15. While I thought Flying Squirrel was a really cool obstacle, I don't like it at the end of stage 1. I think that would be a really cool 2nd to last obstacle for stage 2.

That'd probably work well. Except, it'd still be slow if you kept the cargo-net (maybe remove it and just have the two sets of handles).

Yeah I meant for it without the cargo net. Just the 2 sets of handles, and make the time limit so theres pressure. Stage 2 is supposed to be more of a sprint. The Double wedge dragged it out way too much. Apparently the obstacle this season did the same.
