What if Nagano's original Stage 1 run had not had the bar on the... Slider Jump (I think that's the name!) go uneven?
I ask because even though Nagano cleared the stage on his redo, he missed Kanzenseiha so narrowly that had he not used the energy to repeat the majority of the first stage, he might have been able to climb the Final Stage ladder/rope faster. Or do you think this would have had no effect?

I don't think it would have had an effect at all. If I remember correctly, his First Stage run was during the day, and Second Stage run was well into the night, meaning he had PLENTY of time to recover for the next three Stages, even after his second try.

Actually, he had about 45 minutes to recover. Maybe it was enough recovery time, but I think that any energy wasted (even with recovery time) will come back to haunt you later. I think it might've had an effect, even slight, and considering that he was very close, he could've won.

With the hours of downtime in between stages, I wonder if it would have actually helped him, being slightly more warmed up (physically and mentally) than he otherwise would be.
