Sasuke has been shown in 180 countries, ANW is watched by millions at the moment. If nothing else, this board possesses (and constantly gathers) a plethora of secret/insider trivia, scandals, racism, and even knowing about the existance of shows several months before they air (All star special). I doubt this kind of info is accessible in many other internet establishments!
So on the sasuke side, why is it that so few people make the leap from casual viewer to being otaku? Anybody that develops a real interest in the show finds out SMF eventually.
And with ANW still airing, why has SMF not drawn nationwide fame for its logging of the recent scandals?
I just see it as slightly strange that after 8 years we're only at 3000 members, with only about 600 or so ever having made a post.
Note that I am in no way complaining at the numbers or blaming any individuals for this. The moderators work diligently and with the odd exception of a couple of over-zealous young posters the forum is fantastic.
And in a way I understand that the less people show up here, the more willing people will be to share classified information.
But I was just curious, do you have any thoughts on why the forum is so secluded? If people knew what kind of ANW info this place has its membership could increase tenfold (not that it would be healthy for SMF).

Language barriers.
Also, the majority of those 3000 accounts just made it for a SASUKE live stream with no intention of ever making a post.

Some may be just nervous to post because of pressure/backlash. I was once apart of that group. Once I started posting I was right at home

Well because, for one thing, when ANW was starting to blow up and bring in viewers like never before, Sasuke was simultaneously being purged from American television.

SMF used to be thriving with many posting but over the years the influx of new abusive members have driven off people. This happens every cycle. The age range of fans has also gone down. Considering that now every thread devolves into topics that have been hashed and rehashed over and over there is literally nothing to talk about. Then anyone complains about how much ANW has hurt Sasuke and the new people jump on them because they feel somehow spurned personally. There's literally no point for anyone to hang around. I know I'm only one of a handful that still log in while this current generation of kids run roughshod over everyone else.

On top of that though, you have to consider that the forums have been around for a long time now. Interests and hobbies change. Those that may have been super enthusiastic about the show when the forums first started may have lost interest.

I think it's partially because of what the forum's main topic is, and how honestly unpopular it is compared to other shows and trends. SASUKE/Ninja Warrior related television broadcasts collectively (as an all shows around the world combined) probably have at most 50 million casual viewers (I don't know for sure, I haven't actually researched this stuff), and I bet only about 5-10% of them are actually serious about the show to the point where they would use this site if they knew it existed. Also, about knowing about this site, there are less than four thousand people here who's accounts are still here today (most of which are either not using the site anymore, or are only here to watch the SASUKE live-streams from Japan), so the number of ACTIVE users is probably far lower than that. I really wouldn't be all that surprised if the number of ACTIVE accounts dips below 500 individual people.

You're just repeating what we've already said, the question isn't "please tell me that SMF is underpopulated", the question is "WHY is SMF so underpopulated?".

Well, technically, I did answer the question in the very first sentence. I said "...it's partially because of what the forum's main topic is, and how honestly unpopular it is compared to other shows and trends." I did say a bunch of unnecessary stuff with the first sentence, and I apologize for that, but I did add a new point that no one has said here, yet.

I think there are two main factors that go into the reason why there aren't that many people here. 1. The fact that sasuke hasn't been shown on american television in years, and 2. The age range of fans of this show. Just to show how young these people can get, I have compiled some youtube comments on the anw youtube channel. The amount of little kids that comment on these things is ridiculous.
why did he fall that's stupid 😐 hey this is on my b day 16th (person talking about what comment number they were) i love amaricin nina warers Aqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqwwswwwwwweeeeeeeeeerrtrsarrrttxyhyyouuaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ( this was actually a comment) I feel like he is doing worster every year now I'm in elementary school and have the entire course of american ninja warrior like number one fan WOW WQEE OH SHE MUST OF PACTICE THIS FO A LONG TIME SHE IS VERY VERY STRONG CONGRATS

Because these forums are only for the most devoted fans of TV shows involving obstacle courses even though they're probably crap.

It usually happens overnight and most people don't see it because Anshin is up being in the west coast and not sleeping. LOL

Something no one has brought up is the name.
When someone googles "Ninja Warrior Forum" and sees SMF as the top result they won't be likely to click it.
When people see the word Sasuke on that google page they expect Naruto, or something else generally not Ninja Warrior related.
