Quick question about the Rolling Log: I'm sure you remember in the early tournaments that the log would unexpectedly come off the tracks (e.g. Yamada in SASUKE 5). Isn't that kind of unfair for the competitors that it occurs to? Or is it caused by something the competitor does?

Honestly they should have made bigger stoppers (an issue they corrected in 25) but it was officially ruled a competitor error for getting in a position setting it off center

That rolling log was crazy. what tournament was it that the thing fell off and attacked the Quad steps? I can just picture the Rolling Log building up like a log army, then being like "Those steps are stealing my victims! Attack!"

That rolling log was crazy. what tournament was it that the thing fell off and attacked the Quad steps? Masaharu Yanagawa managed to roll it backwards and make it attack the Quad Steps in SASUKE 7. The tracks never looked too stable to begin with and having people swing around it definitely didn't help. If anything, it made things even harder. How it got STUCK, I will never understand.

I think it happened more than once didn't it? SASUKE 14 as well but it didn't keep rolling backwards.

That rolling log was crazy. what tournament was it that the thing fell off and attacked the Quad steps? It rolled back in Sasuke 7 but it attacked the Barrel Climb, not the Quintuple Steps.

Actually in 7 it was the Maruta Nobori, the Godantobi were introduced in Sasuke 8, and the Godantobi and Quad Steps are two similar but very different obstacles

That's why you don't watch modern SASUKE clips while trying to remember the Banzuke specials.

But it was translated to the Quintuple Steps in the Ninja Warrior dub, despite there only 4 steps. (Quintuple means 5)

(Quintuple means 5) Yes Godantobi means 5 Step Jumps too, that's where "Quintuple Steps" comes from, I was referring to the fact Godantobi are just 4 small hard solid steps close together and the jump to the platform and Quad Steps are much bigger steps with a different material, and the ANW version you just step off onto the platform and the Sasuke 32 Quad Steps you go to the Rolling Hill for the dismount and not the old angled platform at the end of the obstacle. Godantobi/Quintuple Steps and Quad Steps are similar obstacles yes, but they're two completely different obstacles
