Hello all! I did a fantasy draft with a friend of mine for Team Ninja Warrior and we thought it was great. Thought I would up the ante and do it with a few of you guys for ANW8!
I would really like to see how this plays out as it would be a lot of fun. Though I do understand that there are a few people on this forum who are competitors so this may be a bit inappropriate so just let me know if that is the case and I will delete this thread!
Now here is how it will work:
Each player gets 5 ANW8 competitors: 4 male and 1 female.
Each competitor gets points for how far they go in the tournament. The female competitor's score is worth 50% more.
The lowest score is dropped and the remaining 4 scores are averaged for the players total score.
The scoring is laid out such that picking conservatively is more beneficial: the points for clearing further stages drops off as the stages get harder. I thought it would be more fun to do it this way such that the one person who happens to pick the last man standing doesn't run away with the whole thing. I know it's kind of against the whole lot of popular Sasuke/ANW philosophies, but I thought the game would just be more interesting this way.
Scoring:
Clear regional preliminary and final: 10 Points each
Clear Stages 1, 2, and 3: 5 Points
Total Victory: 2 Points
Extra, superlative points:
Fastest regional preliminary, regional final, stage 1 clear: 5 Points
Fastest Stage 2 clear: 2 Points
Last Man Standing: 2 Points
Tied/Best Female Finals Run: 5 Points
The scoring sheet will live here:

There are two sample sets on there already if you want to take a look.
If you wish to participate, send me a PM with 20 picks (both male and female) in the order that you desire. The draft order will be random. The first picks will go from first to last in the draw order, the second pick will go last to first, the third from first to last, and so on.
Some other logistical details:
1. You are responsible for picking people who will compete. This is partially why I have the "drop one score" rule in there in case we have some unexpected people not competing. I'll have a list at the bottom of this post updated to include some well-knowns who are not.
2. Finals wildcard spots do not count for stage 1,2,3,4 completions but do count for bonuses.
3. Submissions after ANW8 begins (March 18th) will not be accepted.
Let me know if you want to compete for bragging rights!
Signing off.
