That's hilarious. While I was curious how they will make it extreme.. the set up is still the same (at least according to the article) and that is why I still don't like this show. It will be interesting though to see how the 18-20 year olds will fare in this show who can't get into ANW.

Just what we need, confused with wipeout even more. I get the feeling another TBS lawsuit might be incoming depending on how they go with this

I'd hate to go up to someone and say "Ever seen SASUKE" and their reply would be: "You mean that Wipeout extreme show? Yeah I've seen it." That's my worst nightmare

I would just like to point out the irony of people in the ANW community making the Wipeout course sound like a cakewalk compared to ANW. This past season of ANW left so many people bitching about wet steps and trampolines and Warped Walls, but last I checked Wipeout is muddy and slippery on purpose.
That being said, I'm interested. I typically like Wipeout's course design, especially the final course.

TBS already sued and won on the original MXC/Takeshi's rip off that was intentional and they got their millions for that fiasco. If anything, NBC can sue ABC to stealing NBC's thunder from ANW! LOL!!! I can read the headlines next summer.. "ANW vs. Wipeout.. who will outdo each other?" Honestly though unless ABC is going to change nights to compete head to head with ANW it won't factor in the ratings for ANW anyway. Now if they change nights, go up against ANW AND Steal their format?.. that's a lawsuit. LOL\ Edit: I do know that Wipeout will be more appealing for people in the long run. a) There is a guaranteed winner which means people will be paid and b) 18 and over gets those extreme dudes to put their money where their mouth is.

If you want to do ANW - dont do this. Producers have said you are not allowed. Or Amazing race, argh!

The ANW group on Facebook. There are a couple producers and staff members in there as well. It's because NBC views Wipeout and Amazing Race as competition, whereas something like Sasuke is fine because it takes place and airs on the other side of the world.

I'm at least happy they seem to be dropping the heat OFF of Sasuke (remember where they came up with that 1 year rule that was utter BS..) now that Wipeout is going to compete directly with ANW by changing formats. The other thing of course is that unlike Sasuke, this airs in the USA in a competing networks. ABC and NBC have never been friends.. this competition is no different, in fact it's basically calling out ANW directly wanting a piece of that ratings pie.

Giggles. Like I said.. I never liked Wipeout.. this will probably make it worse! LOL I don't even know. Wipeout was strange because it honestly had a pretty wide range of competitors, from people who stood absolutely no chance to ones that were actually physically fit. Is this the same thing except eliminating the weaker contestants? That's what stage 1 of wipeout did anyway. If the rules are the same aside from that, seems like it'll be pretty lame.

Well my biggest issues is the fact that if you fail you can keep going... that is fundamentally different from Sasuke that it just bothers me. If you fail you should stop.. not be awarded money because you sucked less than the person who failed right before you. LOL

Not to mention there are specific obstacles that can ACTUALLY make you fail by the flip of a hydraulic-switch! That obstacle where they run along the ledge (at around top speed) and then the wall comes out of nowhere and clothes-lines them into the mud. so classic! ANW takes itself too seriously. Wipeout is just a joke. Sasuke is like the happy medium (to me!) It is super funny to watch people get owned onto crash mats!!!!
