I think it'd be fair you get a shirt if you clear the stage.

They'd need more obstacles or harder ones to be doing that. That course doesn't sound very difficult to me.

You all know how little of a fan I am of G4 but this at least looks enough of a fanfest if there ever is one. HOPEFULLY if it's successful they will plan ahead AND do a better job the next time. For now though I'm happy they are making SOME effort..

Most of the people doing it are going to be nerds, and the cliff-hagner is going to take out almost anyone who gets there. Youalso have the pipe slider which is difficult granted it works right, the jumping spider which isn't easy, and the warped wall.

You got a short warped wall though... And how can you say they'll fail the cliffhanger? They're always typing and gaming! They must have the strongest fingers ever! [/obvious joke]

Yes you're probably right about the cliffhanger. The first time I tried to do it I couldn't hold myself up much less move. I was like WOW that's really hard! Its easy for me now but I've been training on it for a while, and Nagano is right, if you can do that, you can do anything. Jumping Spider is not that hard with proper technique and timing. The Pipe Slider is also pretty easy unless they have the insane jump like they had in 14-17, if they put that in there I'll give the course some props. I still though must give G4 some credit, it appears they are at least trying to do things right and this is definately a step in the right direction. I'll be looking forward to hearing from those who were there about the difficulty and sucesses of those who were there.

I have to agree with you again Rider, thats exactly what I was thinking. Maybe they'll surprise us and put up a permanent course with constantly adding new obstacles? I can dream....

okay just got back, and it was a LOT of fun. there was the quintuple steps but father apart the pipe "slider" more of glider if u hit it right, the it was asasuke2/3 jump/ touch down cliff hanger- it was double the width (6cm/2 inch) it was straight TINY gap then incline spider walk w/ trampoline- not rly a jumping spider, the trampoline was basicly @ the begging of spider walk warped wall- only about 12/13ft my results: damn steps were 2 far apart, i did 3, then tripped pipe slider, jumped grabbed got about 1/2 way the fell cliff hanger, got about 1/2 way thru the first ledge jumping spider, slipped got to the wall w/ about 20 seconds, looked so easy, i can SO DAMN CLOSE to getting the top.

It's so crazy that people like bigblind got to try but I didn't gah!!! Just trying Ninja Warrior obstacles in general would be fun. Sounds like Cliffhanger was a really easy version though, and the pipe slider was the easier version from the old Sasuke's. Biglind: Did you meet up with strat, Unclesam, or the AmazingOti?

Yeah it was pretty fun. I'll get pictures and stuff up later yay. The rules were different, if you failed an obstacle, you could keep going. Which I liked, 80% of the people there, including me, were n00bs. Olivia Munn was there. Alison Hayslip was there. None of you guys really care, moving on. The obstacle's were pretty straight forward, they chose the easiest, most famous obstacles, as you already know. Quad-steps - was pretty damn hard for me. I know right? You have to really have your feet slanted for it to really work. That was my problem anyways. It was pretty much just like the Ninja Warrior Course. Pipe Slider - had a REALLY SHORT track. I mean, if you ran and jump and slide, you were pretty much at the end. Even I beat it, and I can barley do a few pull ups... I was pretty surprised I beat that. THere was also a gap, so you had to swing to make it to the next obstacle. Cliff Hanger - was pretty weird. BigBlind has that better explained. Jumping Spider - was dumb. Flat out, it was just as bad as the "box" one. You didn't even really have to jump on the trampoline (If you can even call it that), if you used your legs, you could've easily made it on there... And no. I didn't pass this. At all. I can't even do the regular Spider.... Warped Wall - If any of the 5 obstacles best copied the Ninja Warrior obstacles, its this one. I think, (I think, so this means I honestly don't know) that it was easier than the actual Sasuke course. But I don't know. It looked shorter than I thought it was. I got a cool tat!!! i129.photobucket.com/albums/p235/JPZJoe/040409_18401.jpg?t=1238896075Ill upload pictures as soon as I get to a decent computer. Im on a mac As for the atmosphere, some people were using this as a great way to get more noticed in ANC5. Which I agree. Other people didn't really care, most didn't even train, and only did it for the hell of it. The crowd was a b*tch. THERE WAS TIMES WHEN THE CROWD WAS COMPLETLY SILENT. Sometimes they wouldn't clap when someone beat the stage. But oh well, I mean, most of them have never heard of Ninja Warrior. However, for the people on these boards, and just general good people, I was very much inspired by some of you guys. You guys are the definition that hard work and practice can get you far, and it did! Some of you guys zipped up the course like it was nothing, and one of you guys even beat it and was 1st place! Luci failed, she fell on a few obstacles, I was surprised. Shes really short! FREE SHIRT!!! i129.photobucket.com/albums/p235/JPZJoe/040409_18541.jpg?t=1238896655I got like 8 of these shirts. Oh well. Once again, Ill upload pictures, Ill even upload my failure of a run, as soon as I get home. Was it worth traveling? Depends. Rider, I think you would hate it. Its far from the Sasuke in Japan, but for what it was worth, which was free, it was fun... for me. I only traveled from San Diego. Others came from around America. Which, in that case, I don't think it would be worth it unless you trained your a** off and wanted to use this in your ANC5 video. Sorry for the long read guys. Thanks. -Joe.

Rider's lame attempt at calling me an a** if just classic Thanks Joe for the blow by blow as well Still do you think it was a good enough first attempt at a fanfest? Seems that despite the lame attempts at the obstacles it seemed like people had fun with the fellow Ninja Warriors. This happens all the time in Japan. Things like the Maguro Festival, etc where it's there and a bunch of people gather.. TBS interviews people in the audience and they have no idea what they are seeing LOL Then they talk to the hardcore fans and they start gushing about their 95 hour training regimen LOL Can't wait to see the pics and more stories
