I'd like to consider myself at least a few steps from computer illiterate, but even since the forum upgrade, every time I submit a post, my browser (both IE and Chrome do it) says it has not finished processing AJAX Processes and asks if I want to leave or stay on the current page. Obviously I click leave so my post actually posts.
Is there a way to circumvent this, or is it just something to deal with?
Thanks!

It might be plugin related. I'll be going through the plugins to find out which one might be causing an interference, if any; and i'll let you know later.
But, you're not the only one who's run into that. I've experienced it for quite some time, but I always thought it was just me. Now that you've brought it up, I'll be on the lookout for it and other issues more often.
Edit/Update: I think I've found the source of the issue. Seems like the Spoilers plugin was out of date. It's been updated to the latest version and everything seems to be working accordingly now.

This probably isn't a major concern (especially since the update resolved jfeathe's original question), but the "Create Post" page now has two "spoiler" icons. Do they both function correctly (presumably with a duplicate somehow being generated as a result of the update), or is one of them just a dummy icon?

They both function the exact same way, as "updating" the plugin seemed to have just fixed the issue and added a new icon instead of replacing the whole package. Proboards is weird in how they handle plugins.
