Derp. That part slipped my mind. Anyway, regarding "match of the year candidate", Okada/Styles is in a log jam at 4.5 stars with a few other matches ahead at 4.75 stars, at least according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (who hands out the award). Fair warning, these people reeeeeeally like NJPW. profightdb.com/top-rated-matches.html?year=2014Given how Meltzer gives out his ratings, I understand the 4.5 stars. He didn't approve of the armbars...and he had a lot of armbars. But only half as many as Chris Jericho. Also on that list at 4.75 stars is Ibushi/Ricochet. I must watch this. NJPW's Jr. Heavys put on amazing matches.

Here's the final. And since it was a bigger show, you should be able to find torrents of the whole day.

Results: Okada def. Nakamura in the final. 3 Rainmakers in a row to finish the job.
In the 3rd place match, Tanahashi def. Styles despite Styles having the upper hand throughout the match. After the match, Bullet Club assaulted Tanahashi and Jeff Jarrett turned heel by joining Bullet Club.

I can confirm that there is a torrent of said Finals. I know. I was just being vague. Anyway, as for the show itself, Final was good - I don't know if it was the best match but it definitely had that big match feel to it. I'd rather have reDragon back than the Young Bucks. Any recommendations from ROH fans? Goto needs to change up his offense if he can't hit his big moves when he's tired. Naito was heeling it up a bit. I know he's pegged as the next big face but maybe they need to re-think that. The Bullet Club thing taking too long due to someone not knowing how to open a guitar case was very TNA/WCW of them.

Some more info about the territorial era here: prowrestling.about.com/od/reviews/gr/nwabookreview.htmPromoters have been ripping off performers for years. But also importantly, performers often help promoters rip off other performers. Being a champion is a compromise, especially at the higher levels. As an aside, I generally like Shoemaker but I don't think he's the end all be all wrestling writer that the popular media thinks he is.

In tag team news, The Usos defended their title on Main Event last night against RybAxel and the team of, for some reason, Sheamus and RVD. Thus, no tag matches at Summerslam.

So does anyone reckon Super Cena will win this weekend? If he wins he may as well turn heel because he would have buried both Lesnar and Undertaker and unless Rollins cashes in will get even more heat from the IWC than before. That's why I wouldn't mind Cena winning but I hope he doesn't.

It's RVD vs Cesaro on the pre-show, cus obviously a match with no build up is a much better match to put on than a tag team title match or US Championship match #WWECreativeLogic
