Lol what? Batista vs. H was awful and plodding. Way too long. Shane vs. Miz sucked too. A few cool spots but like Shane is kicking out of Miz's finisher on a metal platform with an instant cover? Is he going to kick out of being run over by a bus next?
First half of mania was enjoyable overall. Second half brings it down a notch but certainly not one of the worst shows they've done. Just way too damn long. Cut 5 matches and you'd have one of the better manias in recent memory.

As a guy who also watched Mania for the first time in a while, HHH-Batista was probably one of the disappointing matches I've seen. Even before the start that Batista already started botching the ropes, have him no sell a powerbomb onto the steel steps, then sell the pedigree poorly... twice.
I do agree with Badalight, First half of Mania was awesome, to think of that way, it makes sense of why Universal/WWE match were on the first half of the card, crowd popped so hard. Then as the 2nd half goes, it was very underwhelming for me. Only thing that I liked was the IC match, even if it was just Finn kicking Lashley's butt for almost the majority of the match. Main Event was great, but the finish was poorly executed, and even Ronda's shoulders were up. But this is the best Mania I've seen in a while.

They should probably just cut it into two days already. Anyway, one of the few traditions that the WWE still follows is you go out on your back (i.e. lose) in your retirement match. Did anyone watch any of the other weekend shows? The only thing I watched was the ROH/NJPW show. As a side note, I went to the last ever show(s) at Hakata Star Lane on 3/31. Then parts of the DDT roster had to fly out to the states for their own show and whatever other things their wrestlers were booked on.

Batista botching through the ropes was fine- if anything it was amusing, considering he went the whole way round again to make fun of himself. I think Batista exceeded expectations. It's just the yearly HHH-goes-on-for-too-long match which I've probably grown accustomed to. For me, Batista made it enjoyable. I liked it simply because it was two old-timers going at it with no stakes involved (unless you bought HHH's career being on the line- classic babyface Hunter, garnering no sympathy whatsoever). Batista has always delivered at Mania. Shane-Miz was still a good match, although I agree that Shane kicking out of the SCF was too much. It wasn't just a spotfest, it was entertaining throughout. Similarly to Batista, Shane doesn't get enough credit in general, especially when it comes to Mania- he always delivers.

Just to be clear, Brock is the best ever. What a treasure he is.

Main event of Super Showdown was pretty poor. It looked like Taker and Goldberg nearly injured each other's necks near the finish.

^ I enjoyed it even though that was the case. I wasn't bored at all with it. Their entrances were incredible too. The crowd was very good for most of the show, which was a pleasant surprise.
I'm not a fan of most of HHH's big matches, but his matches this year against Batista and Randy were very enjoyable.

The match was awful. They nearly killed each other. Almost every single move was botched. Goldberg concussed himself and could barely stand. Easily the worst match of either mens' careers.

Just a gentle reminder that Brock Lesnar is the best.

It's been a while since I've visited this thread. What I can say is, any show which has Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks featured as its top champions is automatically the top show.

How do you guys feel about what's going on in Impact Wrestling? Some people are saying it's still trash, but I say it's improving a bit due to the amount of stars heading there from WWE after getting fired.

Impact is interesting because despite everything that’s tried to kill it both from outside and within, it’s still doing generally well.
