So, several of us are stopping in Japan for a few days on the way to Malaysia, definitely hooking up with Shinya, and hopefully getting the ok from Arasida to come play. One other place I definitely want to visit is Kuromochi's place (Edokko Pub, I believe?). Google maps is showing me a hotel when I put it in... any thoughts/advice on location/times to go when he might be there?
Of course there will be pics/vids and whatnot for errybody

I'm not sure where/when to go for that (sorry about that), but I hope you guys have a great time! I'm excited to see/hear how it went! Also, you should let Kuramochi know that I'm one of his biggest fans. He's my favorite competitor on SASUKE! I want to see him in the 30th anniversary competition!

You see this face? This is my jealous face. (It's like my war face, but with less eyebrow scrunching.) You need to get a shout-out from Mr. Octopus to my oldest ("Alora.")

I think it might be an issue of most of us not knowing where it is.

Shingo Yamamoto is pretty active on facebook and has been there before. If you shoot him a message he might be able to help with an address and best time to visit. He might even join you guys if he's available

I seem to have found him! :-) He spoke no English, and Tim K and I spoke little useful Japanese, weren't even sure we were in the right place at first, as I didn't have internet for the google maps save point I'd previously entered (just had a screenshot of the general area in a message I sent brian K). I remembered what the storefront sort of looked like from the google Street View image that came when you entered the address I confirmed with Shingo the week prior, as well as the train station we were to get off on (Shingo's help again). All I could see on the map screen cap, was that it appeared to be somewhere northwest of the train station, so the only thing we could do was just walk along the tracks, and hope I saw it eventually! When we got inside, it was a LOT smaller than I'd expected, and there was just one large group of Japanese business men getting tanked and taking up half the joint. It didn't look like the place, but I said "screw it" and walked over to the kitchen to take a peek in, and THERE HE WAS! The only thing I thought to do was extend my hand, bow, and say "Tako Tencho??", and did my best to introduce myself, explain that I was a Sasuke fan, and an ANW competitor. He knodded his head and mumbled something in very gruff, colloquial Japanese. Our blank stares prompted him to ask something like "Nihongo ka?", to which we embarrassingly shook our heads. He, also seemed to say "screw it" and asked us "Biru? Biru?" We smiled and nodded enthusiastically. He sat us down at the OTHER table in the room, shouted for the other worker (a woman in the kitchen) to bring us some appetizers (otoshi, maybe?) and drinks, and went off to grab something, eventually returning several times with different photo albums of the various Sasuke and ANC (Brian O, Levi, and Brett, from after ANC 2, I'm assuming), pointing to people, and seeming pleased when we knew who they were. When We asked if we could get a pic with him, he grabbed my arm to see what I was working with, and implied that NOONE comes into Edokko Izakaya asking for pics with their SHIRT ON! (a casual look through his pics with the sasuke guys clued me in, as they were all flex pics). We did the damn thing, Tim and I got vids of us going on his indoor cliffhanger, and I even snagged a "Stratising" pic (above). Tim and I proceded to get trashed, eat awesome pub food (sakana?), and I made like the Sasuke vets and smoked a bunch of cigarettes. He even snagged one of the Japanese business men from the table next to us, who seemed to know a tiny, tiny bit of english, sat him down with us, and ordered him to help us talk! It was one of several ridiculously amazing experiences that we had during the week in Japan, and later the week at Sasuke ASEAN. I still can't believe it was all real.

I guess you could play "who do I recognize" with this pic. Nagano, Shingo, Yamada, Yuuji, Kanno, Ryo, and Asa were the only ones other than Kuramochi that I could recognize quickly.

Mr Octopus was like our new japanese grandfather, showing us all kinds of cool pictures, feeding us, and just being generally nice. Hopefully next time (next year??) we will speak enough Japanese to have an actual conversation with the guy!

Damn I think I recognized everyone in that picture. LOL They are all Sasuke and Kunoichi vets! (and a couple STQ'ers) That's right before Sasuke Rising (28) when everyone was in Tokyo already for that "room".
