The pacing of the show has been my biggest problem with this season, especially during the regionals. Looking past the constant use of competitor profiles, I found watching the runs were not as exciting this time around. After thinking about it, I decided the reason was the "Win and You're In" rule introduced this season. With that rule added, there isn't much of a reason to finish the course quickly, provided you don't fail along the way. Because of that, it essentially felt like I was watching nothing but stage three runs for eight weeks straight.
That's when I got an idea; what if the regional qualifiers and regional finals both had time limits? You can still use the "Win and You're In" rule but add a sense of urgency and suspense in every person's run. With a time limit, they could even get rid of the 3 strikes rule on the Warped Wall.
So what do you think? Is adding a time limit a good idea? Or are things better without the time limit?

Yes, I've always thought this to be the best option. If for some reason not enough people cleared you can go back to the "who got to the warped wall the fastest" rule, or whatever.
Watching some of the runs live was painful, especially in the regional finals. I swear some guy took like 20 minutes to do the entire course. Who does he think he is, Nagano on stage 3?

For qualifying round I agree that a time limit would be a good idea, city finals I kind of feel like that might be a bad idea, I see Bada's point about Denver but I mean I was at Baltimore, that city finals was extremely brutal with the 60 pound rumbling dice and extended length Body Prop. And it'd be kinda odd to have some regions getting a time limit and some not, then again... it was kind of odd with Baltimore having the SL marker rule overturned due to the RD difficulty when the other 3 regions you had to make it to the marked notch but I seriously understand why they did that (hell, they had to change that on tester day and I was literally the first person to get the "go whenever" rule even if I went up to the marked notch)

I voted for time limit, at least for qualifiers (funny considering I had the slowest time in qualifiers). Why? Because that way we would be able to run more competitors. It also gives people a better feel for how to tackle the timed stages in Vegas. You're going to have the most amount of competitors at qualifiers so it would be nice to get through them as quickly as possible, so that more people can have an opportunity to run.

Agreed with almost everyone.
Qualifier: Yes (with obstacles as easy as in Denver), Finals: No (Easier Obstacles, More than 15 People Advancing)

I dunno, This isn't even out of bias but I think Baltimore had the right idea. Qualifying has sorta easy obstacles, Finals really kicks things up to a challenging course. Maybe not as overkill but yeah

Nope Also don't agree on putting super hard obstacles in qualifying or city finals...because barely anyone passes those so ....yeah

I think they should do a time limit for the Qualifying course, and then do a Kunoichi 2 style time limit for the Finals where there's a time limit up to the Warped Wall, and then no timer from the Salmon Ladder onwards.

That makes sense considering they try to make the extended part of the course more like stage 3-type obstacles

I will be honest, that is an amazing idea. Maybe separate timers? one for the Qualifiers and one that starts right before you jump on the trampoline before the Salmon Ladder so you can get a breather between the Qualifier and the extended course.

I dunno, I think it's a better idea just to go with jfeathe's version and have it just stop after the Warped Wall (although there's still an upwards counter going through the whole thing to keep track of results placement) And when I said difficult obstacles... I meant challenging, not overkill... there is a difference and I know it first hand

Definitely for the qualifiers. For the finals of the regional, they can lax it since a lot of the finals keep using Stage 3 style obstacles (Lamp Grasper and especially Body Prop). Probably at best, for the finals, after the Warped Wall, they can do something like the 30-40 second rule between obstacles.
