I took a nostalgic stroll over to Sasukepedia today and nearly puked my brains out over a 9 year old troll who vandalized multiple pages, trying to state that he became the first American Ninja Warrior at the ripe old age of 9. He even created a page for himself: sasukepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Allan_Su?oldid=19837I wish I could say this was the first time, but it's not even close. Sasukepedia has had an outrageous amount of vandalism. As a result, I am motioning to create a separate are of Sasukepedia where these little buggers can troll to their hearts' content and we can have the real results unmodified. Thoughts?

It's like no mods even pay attention to Sasukepedia. Ot has become a vandalized piece of crap. I hate to say it, but ir's true.

We could always use more help...the more people looking at this stuff would be better. thanks RC for the help. I too haven't been there recently because frankly, I haven't had the time to with school and other things going on.

Could we perhaps install some new moderators then? I know two guys who you could add to the effort EDIT: To clarify, I mean adding mods, not replacing mods.

Adding forum moderators won't help against vandalism on the wiki. We need more active editors on the wiki to keep the vandalism low and the accuracy high.
Most of the infrastructure for the wiki is there, we just need more editors that know the content (who did what, who failed when and where, obstacle statistics, etc) before we can "finish" the wiki. As it stands though, the active editors have been the only editors for many months now (aside from anonymous edits); and there's only so much we can do by ourselves. It doesn't help that as a content editor, I'm pretty useless; as I handle more of the structure and design of the wiki rather than the actual content.
I try to make an effort to keep an eye on the wiki and make sure vandalism doesn't happen, but somethings just slip by and I just don't have the time that I used to. We know there's problems with the wiki right now, and we'd like to fix it, but it's a volunteer effort; we put forth countless hours in the past and will continue to do so in the future, but we can't do it alone.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but couldn't you just not let the site be edited by anyone other than moderators?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but couldn't you just not let the site be edited by anyone other than moderators? While that would stop vandalism, in the long run it would make much more work for the mods of it because they'd have to do EVERYTHING, with Sasukepedia the community can add info as soon as it's known (after broadcast about results of course). Maybe set it up so mods have to approve things though? (although that still makes more work for them but less than making mods the only ones who can edit)

We can't make Sasukepedia be restricted to editing by registered editors only. Wikia (the hosting company) has anonymous edits enabled in their server configurations, and if they were to change that setting it would affect every wiki in their network and not just ours. We can restrict individual pages, but only after they've been created.
While I'm all for restricting editing to just those that have registered, it's never going to happen unless Wikia magically decides to change their policies; which is highly unlikely as they've been around for years and other wikis have faced the same if not worse vandalism than we have.

I meant Sasukepedia moderators, not SMF moderators. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I meant Sasukepedia moderators, not SMF moderators. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was obvious from the start, and for the most part the SMF mods are mods on Sasukepedia probably... (pretty sure at least but haven't checked Sasukepedia's staff, or even know how, but considering it was started by SMF staff...) And anshi's post kinda covered it anyways.

Although... since we've had even more vandalism than usual over there lately, I'm OK with this being brought back up
