I got out okay. My Mom had some damage at her house and I can't get in contact with my Dad (yes parents are divorced). Power is out to a bunch of people in Philly and Jersey that I know but I got in contact via cell. Makes you realize how many friggin' trees are in the world.. the clean up is going to be .. interesting. Listening to the devastation around me though. We got lucky.

Aahahahaha yeah. I saw that on twitter and had to share That's the Jersey shore. Not sure exactly where but that's a sand shark That's OK. I'm sure New Jersey is quite familiar with sharks. Seriously, though, I feel bad for all the families who live there, and even moreso for those who have lost people. I hope everything works out fine for you Arsenette. Although I can just imagine, with two hurricanes in as many years, the general reaction to Sandy's hurricane warning was along the lines of "You've gotta be kidding me!" And picturing Will Smith saying "Aw, hell na!" makes the thought quite amusing. I'm not making light of the tragedy or devastation, mind you. I just like to use humor to lighten the mood. Not by ignoring tragedy, but by coping with it.

Has anyone heard from Dudesky since the hurricane hit? I haven't heard from him but according to his profile: Last Login Date: Oct 31, 2012, 5:31pm So that's a good sign that he's still around

I lost power on Monday at 8:30 pm and just got it back this morning around 4. The lost of power wan't the big problem, rather the lack of heating. It's much colder now than when Irene hit, so I'm worried for the people for the people who may have to go another week or two without electricity.
As far as damage goes, out chimney took a little damage and we lost a tree; nothing major. I'm thankful we don't live near the water. There are people not to far away from me who lost their houses due to flooding. It's very surreal.

Glad that outside of some minor damage everyone is okay and finally warming back up. I hope the others get power soon. It's been friggin' cold.
