Given the current state of Sasuke being resurrected with Sasuke Rising / Sasuke 28, what is everyone's thoughts on the possibility of the resurrection of Kunoichi as well?
Could Sasuke 28's revival and change in structure provide a staging ground for future Kunoichi competitions? Could Kunoichi be gone for good after K8?
Would TBS revive Kunoichi at some point if Sasuke picks up in ratings and popularity in Japan? Given that they are likely to have picked up Kunoichi along with Sportsman when Monster9 dissolved and they acquired Sasuke.
Just a thought, as at times I enjoyed Kunoichi far more than Sasuke, but it varied per competition.
Please keep the discussion civil, I'd like to have a bit of a serious discussion about Kunoichi's future given the opportunity.

At this point I'd be shocked if they brought back Kunoichi given the fragile state of Sasuke and the dismal ratings of a rebooted Kunoichi.

As long as they don't use the same format as K8, I'm happy.

I expected that. I just want a VIKING RISING. Not happening... TBS never had rights to Viking, it was a Fuji TV show. Not unless TBS got it in the M9 thing and are now co-owners or something... still not happening since TBS and Fuji are competitors...

Even though it looks like there isn't going to be one anytime soon (if ever), it sounds at the very least, like they also acquired Kunoichi and Sportsman when they acquired Sasuke; which in my opinion, is a good thing. I'd like to see them come back eventually. I expected that. I just want a VIKING RISING. Not happening... TBS never had rights to Viking, it was a Fuji TV show. Not unless TBS got it in the M9 thing and are now co-owners or something... still not happening since TBS and Fuji are competitors... In which case, you can expect VIKING to stay in a state of infinite limbo until one or the other finally decides to cave and sell the rest of their share of the show.

Sorry for bumping this up. I was was working on a blog and going over my notes on an interview I did with Inui last month where I specifically asked about the fate of the previous M9 shows. From what I understand we will never get another iteration of an M9 creation that has finished (i.e. Sportsman in particular and definitely Viking since it was Fuji TV anyway). I did ask him specifically about Kunoichi (especially after ASEAN) and he said that TBS is hearing more requests to bring that back. The way it works is that if they get enough fan support for it, then they will consider reviving that since it's been long tied to Sasuke directly. So basically, ask TBS for it. Not sure how that will work, but so far that's the gist of it. It's not dead yet.

Between people wanting it and them getting the money to do it... it might be a while. I'm not going to be picky. Anything that even somewhat resembled Kunoichi is fine with me. It'll be interesting to see the amount of support that will be needed to get TBS to consider a revival. Seeing as Sasuke's current lifeblood is other countries' versions of Sasuke, it might need international interest to be viable.

Perhaps a way to get Kunoichi off the ground is a Kunoichi ASEAN Open Cup of sorts, where they have people from all around compete. They can see the ratings, and then see if Kunoichi is worth bringing back.
