With the impending rebranding of G4, how do you think American Ninja Warrior 5 is going to be affected? Hopefully this is good news, but I'm a bit worried...

I also want to discuss this rumor No. They plan to make it into more of a sport with each country doing regionals for a world Sasuke. That's still being tossed around.. but yeah.. I don't like it either. Takes away the "fun" out of wildcards in Sasuke as we know it and change the formula to a full-on sports show. That's still about a year or so out if it happens at all. We'll see what happens with the re-branding what will happen to ANW and it's involvement with Sasuke. I don't however want to turn this into a what will happen to Sasuke in that format thread. It's all rumor and planning atm and frankly so much can happen by the time we get there IF we get there. I'm not sure if they're going to go with that but that kinda sounds like ratings suicide unless they get plenty of pro athletes along with the normal guys... Sounds like a more elite Sasuke 25 and that bombed in ratings since it only had 3 people who were celebs (not counting olympian Yukio), and 1 was a comedian who apparently was past his point of popularity and was still the biggest names, and 2 guys from a boy band that doesn't seem to be too popular... Not to mention the wacky fun from familiar jokes (Like the trio of failure). Luckily nothing is confirmed yet, I hope they scrap that and stick with the traditional Sasuke format... I wouldn't mind seeing one tournament like that but I hope it's not the normal...

I'm certainly optimistic about the rebranding. G4 has nowhere to go but up. If Ninja Warrior gets canned (which is the only thing I don't want to see go), I wouldn't even expect this to affect ANW5. Plus it's not like ANW's future was ever certain anyways.

Actually ANW's future kinda is already mentioned, during ANW4 they showed ads about applying for ANW5 (Well, more tryout ads that confirm ANW5)

Agreed ANW5's future is secured in the USA. It's not about Japan anyway (as shown in ANW4). The only thing in jeapardy would be any attachment to Sasuke in the future especially in a reboot situation. Too many variables. As for showing Ninja Warrior (previous seasons).. that is what is in Jeopardy as we know NW has taken a back seat in G4 for the past few years in the wake of ANW. It's obvious they can care less about NW these days as all their eggs are in the ANW basket.

Well ANW4 was kind of an experiment to see if they could pull off ANW on their own, as far as G4 was concerned it worked... (hopefully if we're stuck with this, the design and format improves).
As for the Sasuke reformatting, I think ANW still would exist in its usual form, you said the rumor was Sasuke becoming more of a sport show with trials all over the world right? I could see ANW being the trial for it like it originally was, maybe having their tournament as the final test in replacement for boot camp (Like best result... best clear times... s*** like that, like if Sasuke was to happen right now, Brent would be #1 ranked because he made Stage 3 in ANW4, like that hypothetical)

I don't see why everyone is worried. All they are going to do is change the name to G5: CATT.
G5 because 5 is higher than 4. CATT: Cops All The Time

I would actually enjoy the whole "sport" rebranding.

Like I said, I wouldn't mind seeing like 1 tournament like that, but in all honesty it sounds like ratings suicide...

Turning it into a world-wide sport would be amazing. Seeing most world-wide sport leagues tend to fail.

Seriously... what's with all the thread bumps recently... aren't the rules sticky globally on this site...

Yes, they are posted in the General Sasuke section, and stickied as a global announcement. It is available at the top of every section.
