Well that sucks... And as long as nbc and esquire have ANW, I don't think anyone else can pick up Sasuke in america... Considering to have that kind of spin-off they need to have rights to the source...
On a related note... Now hiring japanese translators to pitch in to he english sasuke community

Btw it's pretty much confirmed now that the only holdover was ANW.. and NOT NW.. which makes me sad/angry at the same time. Until TBS releases the monopoly Comcast has you can kiss any American ever being on Sasuke goodbye. We all should've seen this one coming at the end of ANW4 when they called the Vegas course "Midoriyama" without any reference to the course in Japan. Oh I agree. I saw this coming in slow motion. Just sucks when you see it just about in black and white.. the omission screams louder than words.

Thank you very much. That does confirm the September date I read somewhere.

They were most certainly not ready for an April switch anyway. September gives them more than enough time to get all of it finalized.

Even at the event things still didn't make sense, all the course signs had the Esquire Network logo along with NBC, but the waiver/NDA along with spectator sign-in forms (i.e the legal signing your likeness to use) had G4 mentioned but no Esquire stuff. I found that odd personally at the time...

So Esquire is leaving G4 high and dry and they're taking ANW with them. This means G4 officially has zero original shows. Is there any point in G4 even existing anymore?
Hell, G4TV.com still says that G4 will be re-branded as Esquire on April 22nd on their front page!

So they took down Style, which...
actually I have no idea but it can't be worse off than G4Cops Network

Whoops, didn't see the most recent posts. But, yeah, I wonder how this affects ANW. Is it confirmed that it'll move to Esquire in the future?

Well that might actually HELP Ninja Warrior since it's no longer tarnishing NBC's ANW.. ahahahhahahahaha wow.. so G4 is in worse shape than they have ever been.. they fired anyone relevant.. took the only ratings hit.. maybe they'll bring back Ninja Warrior JUST to save G4.. that's.. epic.

Random thought: the change of plans may prove to be beneficial to ANW. Replacing a network with a better install base will probably result in higher ratings for the non-NBC episodes.

I do have a question though.. now that the cat is out of the bag sort to speak.. have they reaffirmed that ANW IS coming to Esquire? or is that still knowledge from the pressers earlier? Because all season ANW has been on G4 so it would be weird to move it now considering that the ONLY reason it was being moved is because G4 was going to be rebranded.. but if it's no longer going to be rebranded there's no reason to move? Not that ANW was getting bit ratings anyway on G4, just didn't make sense to move it now after it being on G4 for so long. As for install base.. not much is going to change honestly.. their numbers come from NBC anyway. Even when G4 had a 96 million installed base ANW was still doing poorly on the network. Just because it's now down to the 60 million range but in a different network (presumably) there's no indication that number will really rise. Also, Did you notice the take on the article where they noted the em... "female" demographic that was kicking it's a**? LOL So they jumped ship to take advantage of a larger demo pool that's making money and abandoning the small 0.1 ratings giant that is G4.qq

tv.esquire.com/shows/american-ninja-warriorI do know that ANW is still listed on the Esquire Network website and there have been no reports to the contrary. It's entirely possible that Esquire will bomb ratings-wise, but it sure feels like they're trying harder than G4 has in a long time.

We'll see though.. when is Esquire supposed to be debuting? I mean it's been MONTHS since they should have then delayed then zomg delayed again. I mean outside of them not know wtf they are doing I don't see them doing ANW any service if they can't even get their demo straight! I still have false hope that Sasuke will come back to G4 now that there's nothing left on the channel. The only reason why I want it back is simply to provide some legal avenue of Sasuke being shown here, reedited then sold worldwide. It would make the most obvious sense for TBS to pursue this now that G4 is here to stay for a while longer. It won't help the Americans trying to do Sasuke Japan (that's another thread entirely) but it will at least help the international sales.

TBH I'm sorta conflicted... As a DirecTV user this makes me happy that ANW will be fully available via TV. But at the same time this is kinda sad seeing how far G4 has fallen... being lowest rated channel in the country and now getting far worse... TBH despite all the problems I liked G4 *grabs shield to prevent hatemail*, but everything is... gone...
Ninja Warrior and Women of Ninja Warrior: faded out of showing ever since ANW beat the ratings of the original, evidently became extinct anyways after NW27 aired (long after directv dropped it), was way later and butchered compared to the original broadcasts it's based on but NW holds a special place in my (and probably many here) heart for introducing me to Sasuke and Kunoichi
American Ninja Warrior: At this point is more an NBC show despite being a G4 original, and that's moving to Esquire network, which isn't going to be G4 (I knew something felt very odd when the signs around the set said "esquire network" but the actual paperwork (mainly the waiver/NDA form) said G4...
X-Play: I preferred the original review format but the news version wasn't bad, I would have preferred those being two separate shows since having both would be nice, but that's just rambling thoughts, truth is A: Adam Sessler left G4, he seemed to be the one who really knew what he was truly talking about B: it ended.
Attack of the Show: yeah it probably wasn't the most popular around here (especialy due to it leading Olivia Munn to Sasuke twice lol ) but I thought it was fun (and yes, was much better after olivia left g4 lol ), but that also ended, and kevin left as well and he was a good host for the show.
Unbeatable Banzuke: loved getting to actually see some Kinniku Banzuke, but the barely scratched the surface and that fell out of airing long before g4 got dropped by directv
E3 coverage, well spike bought out the rights to that... one of the nails in the coffin (tbh I did prefer G4's coverage, they seemed to care more and made things interesting when it wasn't a press conference (granted those were the important part anyways)
I may be in the minority for this next one, not just people who liked it but just hearing about it makes me feel in a minority lol . Code Monkeys, was a fun show, but they didn't make more and it just rerunned for a bit then disappeared...
And this is just dealing with stuff I remember watching... so uhhm what does G4 even have left that isn't endless reruns of cops and cheaters? CES and Comic Con coverage? maybe? I don't even know if they still do that...

If it wasn't for Community (which they treat like s***) and ANW (yet have the gall to disrespect the original show by pretending that's not the reason ANW even happened) I would never watch NBC (football notwithstanding when the Bears are on it). Just f*** NBC in general. f*** their terrible business model, f*** their incompetent heads, f*** their coverage of the Olympics (and the fact they will have likely have learned NOTHING from London since we're stuck with NBC coverage for Sochi, Rio, Pyongyang and Tokyo) and f*** the fact they can't even do this right. A better install base is nice, but irrational ranting or not, why go through all this trouble just to change your minds and further complicate matters like Esquire is going to be that successful in the first place, right off the bat?
Meh, maybe I'm just clouded because of my G4 memories of when they were good to me.

Actually Adam Sessler was fired Rider.. a fact he iterates in all of his interviews. There was no amicable passing between him and G4. It only goes to show the rampant mismanagement going on in the background that ultimately took down what was left of it's reputation. Now with anything left that was supposed to be good about it I don't even know wtf they plan to do with the network. If they have any sense now that they officially mentioned what is going to happen to them.. they might as well pull out what's left of their licenses and play that until they can rebuild. G4 still the red-headed step-child is under the auspices of Esquire now (sharing President...) so this is going to be interesting what they are going to relegate to that channel that they wouldn't already put in Esquire. It's a bloody mess. Oh TCM agreed about NBC.. they weren't any good back then either LOL Edit: posted a blog
