This is actually the last of the new G4 episodes as the rest of the couple of weeks will be NBC only. This show is 3 hours long on G4. I'll create a thread for the Monday, NBC Finals. Please keep G4's presentation of Finals Stage 1 on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. Note: This event was taped in April, 2012. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

Rumors are that we will be seeing the first 87 competitors.

If the 87 competitors rumor is true, then that means 29 competitors per episode.

I want to see how badly they messed some of the obstacles up in the name of 'safety.'

^ To be fair, the first one looks harder than the one from 27.

^ It's more the spacing I was referring to. Doesn't change the fact the safety made it more difficult... I mean We already know of a big name and a hyped newcomer failing there

Well, at least the water's clean. Or maybe at Midoriyama they pump relatively fine water into pits of dirt which turn to mud... I wonder why they bothered covering them up with tarp back in SASUKE 4?

It's probably the latter, putting water into dirt pits. As for the tarp thing you realize those gradually faded out, Sasuke 2 had tarps in the pits under every obstacle (aside from obstacles that had padding like the Spider Walk or the Pole Bridge), gradually they started having some obstacles without tarps over the water pits since the pools required were getting so big, later on you'll notice some how only select obstacles had tarps, and eventually they just faded out, at this point it wouldn't be cost effective or practical to have them under every obstacle, I'm sure the only reason ANW did it was because of lawyers... not wanting to get in trouble over unsafe waters (It's america, you know someone would claim they got sick from the mud pit or something)

Wasn't it from like 9 onward no more tarps? Yeah, but the water was still dirty.

As fascinating as the tarp discussion is maybe we should get back on track. Has anyone confirmed if G4 will be showing the first 87 or 88 trys.

EDIT:I just watched the preview and Matt Iseman said: "How many of these 20 will realize their dream of completing stage one."
