For a simple discussion of anw4 to keep the clutter of the "news" thread.
In the other thread we were talking about age, so do that here as well.
Also if you're on twitter, please message the intern that runs the Ninja Warrior Twitter/Facebook page and ask him why the age limit is still 21.

I really don't know any other reason why it is still 21 except whenever 28 comes around, if someone wins ANW they get a spot. Or 10 best performances. Shunsuke Nagasaki's best tournament was 17 as we all know and he was 18. Die for your country, have sex (or marry), you can even legally smoke when 18, but can't compete in an obstacle course when you qualify for the demo G4 wants for ratings?

Shunsuke was 19 when he made the Final Stage. Kawashima Takayuki was 18 when he made the final though. This isn't counting other notable under 21 competitors like Honma Kouta, Sato Jun, Morimoto Yuusuke, Ito Yoshiki, and many others

I guess G4 is keeping age limit at 21 is because:
a. The formula has been solidified ever since ANC. b. Drew's innjury at 27 (ok maybe I'm going too far) c. Insurance (I guess) d. G4 don't care about anyone under 21.

I seem to recall that in the past some of the ANW competitors have gone out for drinks while in Japan. Legal drinking age in Japan is 20 and it's 21 in America. Maybe that's part of why G4 is keeping the age limit at 21? They don't want someone underage going out drinking?

Either way it's still pretty unfair. I'm gong to pitch a suggestion here... Why don't the 18-20 year olds here who think they have a legit chance make videos, turn them into G4 and then tell them the successes of under 21 competitors and then tell your age telling g4 to reconsider, what's the worst that could happen? we get turned down? I mean we can at least plant the idea in G4's brain

Yeah I remember some of the members of ANW went to strip club on the day before SASUKE. I think that was back on ANW 1.

Well there's more a problem with drinking (Like before 20, and I remember there was something about Brian being hungover for 25 or 26), I mean isn't going to a strip club an 18 thing even in america?

If the TBS-built course is going to be in Vegas, just based of random Googling, strip clubs that don't serve alcohol are 18+ while those that do are 21+ in Vegas. Maybe someone from there can actually confirm that.
Regardless, this is a network who thought voting was a suitable way to choose people. I don't find their consistency to be notable.

TCM is saying that they MIGHT go to a strip club, seeing that they are going to Sin City.............. And that lfrt comment is completely unfounded. If Lfrt had a strip club, it would be private and there would only be one stripper....you know who.

That post was in response to the whole 21+ argument lets them do more adult things like strip clubbing and such (which shouldn't be any business of G4's unless someone gets in trouble). Vegas has 18+ strip clubs apparently but they don't serve alcohol there for obvious reasons. I'd imagine you would get carded anyway.

Casting gave Bada an answer just a few minutes ago : twitter.com/#!/ANW4_Casting/status/163059262543773696 Hi. It's because of legal reasons the show and network decided on. “@badalight: @anw4_Casting Why is the age limit still 21 and not 18?”

You know... Despite that, I'm still going to turn in an entry video to make them reconsider...
