6 qualifiers? What? I thought it was 6 regions but only 3 cities. Yeah that's the same thing, Each spot is going to have 2 trials...

Yes, regions = qualifiers. I would definitely assume that it is the top 100 times overall for all locations that get to go to Vegas. Easiest way to do it and fits the format of previous ANWs. Given that the dates are staggered.. I HOPE this is not the case.. I would welcome picking 17 from each and the bottom 1-2 be wildcards for the final spots of the 100 based on time at THAT point.. not overall 100 one region can be dominated by another... happened in Figure skating all the time.. and there was much bitching about it. Given they are doing 2 different regions in each city I would THINK they wouldn't do that. Wouldn't put it past them though. P.S. Read the NWFB page and one of the answers to someone's question was: Hey Zackeri, no dates are locked in yet but all 3 qualifying rounds will be taking place in March also it seems they are not doing walk ons?: Hi guys! Everyone who hopes to participate in the qualifying rounds MUST make a submission video and upload it to Also! LOL I got a post on my blog about this: Brian said... The following article mentions that the airing will take place this summer, and that "Weekly episodes will air on NBC and G4". news.yahoo.com/nbc-g4-airing-american-ninja-warrior-summer-161201529.htmlSorry.. a cubic boatload of articles came out today..: www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2012/01/24/g4-and-nbc-partner-to-broadcast-the-new-season-of-american-ninja-warrior-the-worlds-most-difficult-and-action-packed-obstacle-course-competition-series-airing-weekly-this-summer-794102/20120124g401/Needless to say the NBC machine went nuts so there were at least 25 articles I found just today.. I expect more when they finalize times and dates. Feel free to post articles as you find them. I'm only looking for those with new information. Yet another update: As of now, the finalists will have their trip costs covered. But first, worry about qualifying

Sorry if I come into this slightly off topic, but Bada said something about messaging the intern on twitter. Better idea for twitter people. I know a guy who's helping to cast ANW4. (Or so he says) If anybody cares to DM him about the age or anything, tweet him @jameswallington . He asked me about my age, and I told him I was only 17, but if you want to message anybody about the age (or about general questions), it sure couldn't hurt to talk to someone who's casting for the show.

Casting has a new twitter: twitter.com/#!/ANW4_Casting Seems they are meeting people in L.A. tomorrow in a fitness center as a recruiting drive...

This is in addition to video trials right? sort of walk ons in advanced? Seems from the surface they are just getting the word out. You still have to send in a video iirc. Deadline for LA is under 3 weeks from now so I can see why they are hustling..

Ah, so it's not even a trial thing, it's just promotion. Knowing G4 is getting that desperate makes me think I actually have a chance despite the age limit

I think it's just marketing. They are pouring a lot of resources into this especially since it's the first time it's all USA and their reputation is on the line. This is by far the biggest gamble they have ever done so I commend them for stepping out of the box. I'm curious if more of a drive will happen in Dallas and Miami. Doubtful but who knows. I'm following them now so I should get the tweets when they retweet stuff like this.

Fitting they're doing their gamble in vegas huh? But it's more about the short time they're giving and the split location thing.

Yeah, G4 finally got it right to have regionals instead of forcing everyone to go to the same place

I actually went to their twitter account and read stuff. I'm going to send questions to them. I got an email address so I'm hoping to clarify stuff. Once I get it I'll post it here. My understanding is that all 3 cities will go back to back weeks starting in the order of the deadlines. So LA first, then Dallas then Miami. Unsure if it's weekends or not. Once I find out I'll post. Same with you guys if you hear anything post here so we don't duplicate efforts.

Do ANY of these articles actually state that Ninja Warrior in general (much less Sasuke) premiered well before Wipeout? I hate how even indirectly they view Wipeout as superior (in ratings, sure, in everything else, not really).

They can't simply because ANW has only existed for just under 4 years... remember the focus of the article and that alone changes what is being said. They'd have to admit a lot in doing so and G4 won't go there..

Strat shared this particular photo from American Parkour's FB page: (Good thing I still have my photobucket account, majhost down again ) As if the grand prize wasn't incentive enough If you can't see it, there are prizes for Regional Qualifying and Regional Finals. $2500 and $5000, respectively. I mean, still taxable, but at least no annuity!

Btw working on blog now but I do have the prelim dates and how this is going to be organized. Synopsis the 6 regionals will run separately (approx. 125 people per region). One region runs in each day. 3rd day will be tops of each region going head to head. I'll post the blog when I'm done as I have to sort through what I was given.

OK that's sort of interesting to hear, I'm guessing that's just a fancy way of saying it's the same as the normal ANW qualifiers and semis thing?
