Note: Since SMF Endurance has effectively went into hiatus, SA gave me the OK to start this since I didn't initially want to try anything while his game was still going on.
We've done Big Brother. We've done Survivor. We've even had a couple games hosted by others aside myself. But now, let's go for something a little different. This is called "The Challenge: Limbo". The Challenge is something of a new idea (inspired by the MTV series formerly called Real World/Road Rules Challenge now). Sure, originality in game shows doesn't seem to exist (much less reality ones), but I hope I can make it work.
This is an individual game. You can have your alliances and whatnot, but there will only be one winner; The Challenge: Limbo Champion. There are two big things about this game (aside from the Finale): Inner Circle Missions and the subsequent Inner Circle and finally Limbo Missions. The Inner Circle is a good thing, Limbo is NOT, as it may send you out of the game.
Inner Circle Missions
Inner Circle Missions are the core of the game. Each time, the top three scores will be allowed access into the Inner Circle. If you are a part of the Inner Circle, you have the task of deciding three people to place in the Limbo Mission. Each person chooses two people (in case of repeats) and the top choice of each will be entered into the Limbo Mission (the higher positioned you are, the more priority you have in your choice being chosen). The Inner Circle is immune to being in the Limbo Missions for that round. Once the Final Six are decided, the Inner Circle is no longer. There is no limit to how many times someone can be in the Inner Circle; if you want to try to control the game, you have to do well in the game.
There is one way to get out of a Limbo Mission: Test Your Luck. Each of the bottom 3 will have the choice of choosing a number from 1-100. If you are 1 off or exact, you will gain the Life Saver which exempts you from the Limbo Mission. If multiple people are 1 off, the one who did not go over the chosen number will get the Life Saver. If multiple people have the same number, and are 1 off without going over, they will cancel out and all three must play. If all three are not even close to the right number, all three must play obviously. As you see, you don't really want to depend on just luck alone. If someone just so happens to get the Life Saver, they are not replaced, it will just turn into a one-on-one match.
Limbo Missions
If you are here, someone wants you gone. In Limbo means you may be leaving the game. The only way to return to "Normal" status is to get the top 2 scores (or if it is 1 vs. 1, win). For the loser (last place) -- you're out, eliminated from The Challenge for good. For the winner(s) -- you're still in (albeit barely) for one more round. However for the top scorer of the Limbo Mission, you also have the choice of Retribution: There are two choices (A and B) and one gives you an advantage to raise your chances of getting into the Inner Circle in the next round and the other will make it next to impossible. To be fair, you also have the choice of not choosing at all.
Final Six
If you made it here, for better or for worse, you are the top six contestants of the game. You've either dominated the Inner Circle, you've survived Limbo after Limbo, or maybe you've skated through, not the best but not the worst. Whatever your strategy was, it paid off and you should be proud of that. Now take that strategy and throw it down the toilet, it won't matter here. The Final Six is a tournament (seeds are determined by statistics) -- 1v1, 1v1, 1v1 -- and the three winners there will compete in one Final Limbo Challenge where the winner becomes Challenge: Limbo Champion.
Are you up for the challenge? I wish to have 12-16, so hopefully my descriptions will leave you curious enough to try it.
(For those who I know may ask: yes, I have the games decided up until the Final Six and even then, I have a few extra games which I just might use for the Final Six. I'll be willing to answer any questions as well, ask here or PM me.)
