I am also interested Scnoi... granted if it goes up much higher it'll be out of my price range, but I'm waiting til the last few hours to see where the price is at.

Still doesn't address the elephant in the room. I would suspect that those who read it didn't realize how much more it will cost them to go to Japan on TOP of the winning bid. I'm sure they thought they were auctioning off the spot and G4/TBS would take them and parade them around saying "oh look how much he contributed to Japan's reconstruction".

I wonder what would happen to that person after they fail stage 1. Imagine if you were given like #2 and asked to leave.

They will be treated like 90% of the competitors.. heck.. even Bunpei was sent home immediately after his run failed back in the day. It's exceedingly rare to have non-named people stay after their run.

Though, I think G4 would let you hang out with their group.
If Aaron who was just a spectator could hang with them, the person who actually competed and won their bid I'd imagine could stay with them.
I'm sure you wouldn't be included in the american "top 10" group. Unless perhaps you did extremely well and they couldn't pretend you weren't there.

They changed the rules about attending and guests after Aaron's fiasco, or did you forget that?

Regardless, I don't think G4 would mind an american hanging out with them.

Aren't you allowed to stay if you're a competitor?

Bada: It isn't G4's call, it's TBS/M9's call who stays and who goes.
Oti: No, only big names are those on big names' guest lists get to stay once their run or their friends run is complete.
I'm not saying they would definately give you the boot, but it wouldn't surprise me either since they have done it in the past with Americans that weren't ANW/ANC.

Sure it's their call, but I don't think they'd give you the boot if you were with the G4 cru.

They were pretty clear in the rules you are NOT part of G4 or TBS. So there might be a provision in there where they can kick you out like they do everyone else. That said.. not sure they will if it's something tied to a contest they ran. Depends also on the behavior of the competitor and their guest. I know the guys that were American before G4 were kicked out as soon as they were done or at the worst.. after the first stage was done. I know Michael Milner was.

Yeah but, if you were able to wiggle your way into G4's group, you might be able to stay. Plus if you pass stage 1, you'll be staying

They don't allow any of those last minute additions to the guest list, another change caused by Aaron, so showing up and hopping on board with G4 is not an option.

You know I'm talking about the winner of the auction right? I'm saying if the winner was there, instead of just leaving they could probably hang out with the G4 crew. I don't see why G4 would turn the winner away. Also M9 probably wouldn't either considering they always let all 10 of the americans stay regardless on where they failed. I know the winner of the auction isn't affiliated with G4, but they could easily tag along as soon as they arrive.

Well the winner is allowed one guest with them (provided they can get there on their own accord). G4 will have to do some mighty good convincing to let the winner stay, let alone the winner + a guest.

You aren't allowed to do that....
G4 A: Does not allow you to bring guests and B: Is not affiliated with this auction
If someone was to go banking on this option they would probably be VERY disappointed.
That was the whole problem with what Aaron did at 22, he just showed up and tagged along with G4, well... they are very strict about that now.

from the terms and conditions. You are allowed a guest. I'm talking about the ANW3 winners, for ANW2 they were not allowed to bring guests. Assuming thats the same, say Bada wins the auction, how is he suppose to go up to David and ask to be his guest and tag along when neither G4 nor TBS allow that anymore? It just doesn't make any sense.

Aaron did not compete, and they weren't allowed to bring "guests". Those guests are not competitors. There are competitors and there are guests. Going up to David we'd both be competitors. I don't understand what you're trying to say here.
