The bid for the course experience went... down.... to 2K... I don't think G4 realizes that auctions generally go up, not down lol. In actuality, I think after verifying some bids, the highest verified bid was this one.

Yeah. Also maybe people realized they weren't paying for an all expense paid trip to Japan, but JUST for a spot on the show.
I REALLY hope people realize this.
Also, this is still (Just BARELY) in my price range. If it stays like this I'll be happy, but it it gets out of my price range I hope it gets out as far as possible. (More money for the relief)

Redid the first post to put the 2 Sasuke-related auctions. I don't see Nagano's shirt he sent over so I'm thinking they might add more?

Reading the terms and these stuck out to me the most: 15. One of the items offered in the Auction is an opportunity to attempt the Ninja Warrior obstacle course at Mount Midoriyama in Japan during the next taping of "Ninja Warrior," anticipated to be in July 2011 ("Ninja Warrior Prize"). Special terms and conditions related to the Ninja Warrior Prize apply:
a) One (1) guest of the Selected Bidder may accompany Selected Bidder on the set of "Ninja Warrior"; however, the guest will not be able to attempt the course. b) Selected Bidder and guest are solely responsible for their travel expenses, including, without limitation, airfare to Japan, meals, accommodations, ground transportation, gratuities, travel insurance, incidental hotel expenses, excess baggage charges, upgrades and any and all federal, state, and local taxes, including special airport taxes and fees. If Selected Bidder is unable to participate on the date of shooting, the Auction Entities shall have no further obligation to the Selected Bidder or guest. c) Selected Bidder and guest must comply with all rules applicable to the Ninja Warrior game show, must obey all instructions and decisions of TBS, M9 and G4, including on the "Ninja Warrior" set, and must be courteous, respectful and professional at all times. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of the Ninja Warrior Prize and revocation of Selected Bidder's right to attempt the "Ninja Warrior" course and/or expulsion from the set, with no reimbursement of Selected Bidder's bid. d) TBS and G4 have no obligation to tape the Selected Bidder and guest, nor include him or her in "Ninja Warrior" or any other program; e) Selected Bidder and guest must complete and consent to all agreements, releases and entry forms required by TBS and G4, which may include:
(i) a release granting TBS and G4 the right to use his or her name and likeness in perpetuity without compensation; (ii) a release waiving all claims and assuming all risk in connection with his or her travel, appearance on the "Ninja Warrior" set and/or attempt of the course; (iii) an agreement to keep the results and any other information about the production of "Ninja Warrior" confidential until the airing of the program; and (iv) a consent to a background investigation. Failure of Selected Bidder and guest to complete required paperwork by the deadlines established by G4 and/or TBS may result in disqualification.
h) TBS and/or G4 may cancel and/or postpone the taping of Ninja Warrior at any time and for any reason without consequence. In other words: 1. We aren't paying for you (which they say on the main site) 2. Don't act stupid (or as Rider puts it, don't use Nagano Rule) 3. Don't expect to be shown on TV at all (TBS, likely the winner gets digested or cut/G4 highly unlikely) 4. You aren't a celebrity, don't expect to be treated like one 5. You may not even have the opportunity to compete because of cancellation (which is the most obvious one). No wonder the bids decreased a bit.

At first I thought all expenses would be included, but if this is only to run the course and NOTHING else, I'll pass. I already donated money at Anime Boston last weekend, and this is WAY beyond my price range now

Woah, the Sasuke auction is down to $1525. If it stays this low, I'll possibly give it a chance.
I'm guessing they're having people verify their bids by giving credit card info or personal info or something.

Or they read the fine print where they have to pay even more money than their bid to fly out and stay there on their own..

Whoa, this looks really tempting at just over $1500. Just wish that they had this auction end earlier so it wouldn't mess with my hopeful ANW plans. Think I'll refrain unless it really does stay this low next week.
Of course, if this auction is anything like all of my experiences with ebay from before, the price is going to stay insanely low until the last minute and a half when some jackasses will work the price up and eventually outbid me within 2 seconds of the auction ending. I just wish people would bid what you're willing to pay from the start and forget about it.
But yeah, paying for the actual travel to Japan is going to be the thing that really affects this. That in itself is not cheap at all.

Not cheap is right. Say you're there for 3 days around when Sasuke is supposed to be taped. From here in Chicago to Tokyo (Assuming that's the place where most will meet) its cheapest price is $1,113 on Orbitz (first site I can think of). Add that to the winning bid and yeesh.

This is really looking like a flop, I guarantee people are waiting to bid. If you wanna keep the price down low, it doesn't make sense to bid now as that is more time for it to get bid up. Same if you wanted to get the winning bid, you don't bid now as that could start a bidding war which will raises the price up a lot. I guarantee we will see a lot of action in the last hour or even in the last few minutes of the auction. I am definitely interested in this and yet I would never bid now with still a week to go.
