Didn't it only say they're getting rid of obstacles? As in no confirmation whether they're getting rid of all or some? If that's the case, it's not really a big deal. I don't think we were ever going to see the Crooked Wall or Tackle Machine again.
Could be some hope here.

The article never said anything about the SASUKE obstacles. The opening of the article mentions that the show (SASUKE) was going to end in March and then follows up by saying that the Sportsman No. 1 sets had already been gotten rid of at some time in the past.

Thanks for clearing that up.
That guy probably got a crappy translation or something.

The obstacles thing was because of the storage argument for ending the 5 shows listed in the original article. So naturally if they are clearing storage... whatever is in the storage is affected.. thus the obstacles thing. As for sale.. that's another rumor going around that's not based on the article at all. As you can tell that one article opened up a can of worms that right now I'm sure M9 is not happy about... neither is TBS since they are put in the spotlight for even wanting to cancel the shows due to the high price of storing props for seasonal shows.

What they said was correct except that they left out the part about it being the Sportsman No. 1 sets.
If it's true that the Sportsman No. 1 set was gotten rid of, then the 2010 show was the last one and nothing official was ever said by TBS/M9 about it ending. It just ceased to exist and TBS moved on. It could be the case that they were planning to do the same with SASUKE. Just have one more show and that's it.

I honestly believe they had a leak.. didn't know about it until it blew up in their face and now they are figuring out wtf to do with the leak.. if there is a Sasuke 27.. then TBS was correct.. they didn't cancel.. yet.. then the article is still correct since it says "in March".. what the NW intern said was that TBS hasn't made a decision on the date for the next tourney.. that's conflicting with reports I'm hearing as to the March date AND the article. So some one is lying somewhere.. or omitting key information that makes the whole thing make sense. I'm still pissed but shouldn't be surprised TBS and M9 haven't said a thing and letting this just go nuts in the media.

On the Ninja Warrior Facebook page in response to the 'cancellation' of Sasuke the resposne was thus: "TBS has confirmed that they have not canceled Sasuke and have not yet scheduled the next event" If this was discussed above then feel free to call me a retard but i didn't read all of it Edit: So yeah it was discussed, as Cole says, but i still think this is a ray of light. Why would G4 knowingly get involved with TBS if they knew Sasuke would probably end. That just doesn't make sense to me at all. Of course, they may have just wanted the excitement that came along with Japanese competitiors and such in order for a ratings boost. Ah, whatever

Yeah we already saw that ^ thanks for putting the quote up though some might not have access to fb.
Why can't TBS just speak up during times like these? It is really painful waiting to find out what is going to happen when TBS has its mouth glued shut. I can't say i'm surprised though after all of last year not saying anything until 2 weeks before Sasuke 26.

In my opinion, both are "correct".
TBS has confirmed they havn't canceled Sasuke yet, well that's true, they havn't said anything.
As for the fact they havn't decided on the next tournament yet, that could also be true.
A.) They don't have an exact date planned yet (just sometime in march)
B.) It's not planned because it won't happen
Which would make both the article and the intern correct.

I did a google translate and a babelfish translate, and it sounds like the obstacles they're gatting rid of are for Sportsman #1. Though it does say Sasuke is ending in March....but after the Facebook denial maybe that was just a misunderstanding?

Obviously someone leaked some information from TBS causing the article to be written. That's caused a firestorm so far. I am agreeing with Ube that TBS got caught with their pants down on this one. Having not heard from anyone reliable yet (sorry but that intern in NW FB has been dead wrong before in a lot of things so I don't have him as a credible source) it's safe to assume damage control is going on in M9/TBS about that article. Knowing that they haven't said anything official this bruhaha might serve our purposes .. seems no one else cares about about the other shows listed in the article but everyone is throwing a bitchfit about Sasuke.. which is good..

Or TBS is being weaselly about it: you don't have to "cancel" SASUKE (unlike Tokyo Friend Park) because it's not a regular show. You simply don't schedule it to be made ever again. True that.. Interesting how the 2 that control this (M9 and TBS) are reaaaaally quiet right now .. unless of course... they wanted this? Hmmm interesting idea... I know of dying TV shows that do this. A piece of news gets "leaked" and then it gets big publicity. Then What do ya know, it gets great ratings, because well its the last one of a great series. Maybe they're just trying to create buzz, because ALOT of people in Japan have watched or atleast know of sasuke. And they hear its the last one, hell why not tune in! and then what do ya know, it gets good ratings (or people don't give a damn and the same viewers tune in). But I think since Sasuke is a fairly well known show, they decided to give it one last push for ratings...

Right now I'm not liking this silence since it's now pitting people that posted the article and those who refuse to believe and attack those who posted the article. It started in Japan yesterday and Taiwan and USA today when the intern posted that on Facebook. Just frustrating when you post something that was nationally written in Japan about shows that we know for a fact are canceled and their assets sold.. and then immediately get b**** slapped for "believing it".. I mean.. what on earth are we supposed to believe? When I posted this in the first place when Andy found it (after the explosion in Japan and Taiwan over the weekend) I knew this had to be confirmed or denied by M9 for it to be true. That's why I said "This is what this article says". Since then I've been hearing conflicting information in both directions... and from sources that have been credible thus far.. a lot more that the NW FB guy. Do I want him to be correct? HELL YEAH. But until we hear from TBS/M9 we can only discuss and wait and ultimately speculate. I just wish it didn't turn into a witchhunt against those who posted the article in the first place.

I think if its the last it'll be somethin like SASUKE2011春 最終回! (sasuke 2011 spring the final episdoe)
Or like SASUKE2011春 最終的な SASUKE
(Sasuke 2011 spring the final sasuke!)
Ya know, have it be in the title

Actually, no. They don't have to say that at all. Some Japanese programs will advertise that it's the final show and some won't tell until right at the end of the show.
Also, in Japan Kinpachi Sensei > Tokyo Friend Park > SASUKE.

Technically, they never ended. Like, I stated before: they don't have to "cancel" the specials like the M9 shows. They just don't have to make any new ones.
This gives TBS a backdoor: if they don't say the show is finished publicly they can always reuse the footage or film a new show if they ever need something to kill time with.
