Uhm.. Juice.. you don't need to pay for Live.. you can have a silver account and be free.. Plenty of my friends are free.. they just can't play multiplayer or use Netflix. So what can you do? You just listed 2 of the biggest features about playing online. Chat feature still open, demos are free and a bunch of other things.

LOL You don't need an account to USE a friggin' 360.. Given the massive game library that doesn't require online use I think you are bitching for no reason

Given the massive game library that doesn't require online use I think you are bitching for no reason I guess my point is, if you were offered the electric bill for 100 bucks a month, or free, what would you choose? Sure, you get water, free, food, 60 bucks per item, and all that other stuff, but you could get electricity for free if you move here. With that said, you are obviously not interested in electricity at all, but I am. In fact, all I do is go online, all I do is use up electricity, so I'd rather have a console that does that. But I guess I see your point if you don't use it...

I agree that it's a bit silly for xbox to charge for online play when the other 2 consoles don't... but to each their own. It's also a bit silly that they even recently increased their rates.
But they don't force you to pay for it or anything.

But they don't force you to pay for it or anything. PS3 is going to tiered pay this year so buckle up Wii has always charged for a lot of it's content and most people don't use what they have as it is so it's not a good comparison. Live is the best set up IMO but the price has been going up since they added the Kinect nonsense. Luckily I'm locked into the previous price and I suspect they will continue to have the lower price for the people who don't have connect. I only use it for multiplayer on occasion and Netflix. What I was saying before is that I'm tired of the argument that people have with "omg I can't use this because of the price".. no one is forcing you to pay for anything. PS3 might (since they are rumoring to include all downloading.. including Demos and even patches...). You can function without the pay system. Similar to MMO's where now there are a lot more options to play without ever shelling out a single dime.

PS3 is going to tiered pay this year so buckle up Entirely optional, and it's been available since June 2010 when it was announced at E3 2010. Playing games online, downloading demos, themes, etc - will still be free. The subscription service is for "extra" features. - The ability to have demos, game and system software updates download automatically to the PlayStation 3. - Early or exclusive access to some betas, game demos, premium DLC and other PlayStation Store items. - Free subscription to Qore. - "Full Game Trials" of some PlayStation Network and retail games, allowing the user to download the full game and use it for one hour. Users can later purchase the game and continue their progress.

LOL True Juice Though in defense.. people who want this stuff for free and expect it to last forever have to be kidding themselves.. I am very much a proponent of paying for worthy service.. but in Live's current state I wont' pay for Kinect users when I'm not one. Which is why I'm happy they have the deals that existed before Kinect came out. It's not good for the new users though.. I refuse to pay more than 3-5 bucks a month. Cough Anshinritsumai most of that stuff is free on Live.. that's what the argument over the PSN model is all about.

I just checked the prices and the blues are around 800m - that's insane. When i played they were around 200m. And i staked away all of my gear when i quit plus my account is now used by my younger brothers - i let em have it when they asked me. So i have no idea what state its in I had around 400m in items and cash back when i played which i guess now would be the equivalent of 1 blilion . Oh, and just through some nostalgic googling i came across this recent video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NkVclF7rTs&feature=player_embedded that's insane and im pretty sure it isn't fake either. For those who have never played Runescape; that vid won't mean much but its insane.
