Takahashi and Hashimoto's fails were the most shocking for me.

Gotta go with how alot of the veterans of Sasuke were knocked out on the Rolling Escargot. It's one thing for alot of the rookies to be knocked out, which is usually a given, but to see even near the end of the 1st stage run that almost all of them hit the drink....that was just....
I honestly would've cried if I was seriously there as a competitor.

Nagano's fail was definitely shocking. I never expected him to fail the Jumping Spider again. Yamada's JS fail was kind of surprising, too. He cleared it easily in Sasuke 23 and 24. I didn't expect Takahashi to fail the Rolling Escargot. That was shocking. Shingo's fail was shocking in that he was ALMOST to the end of the obstacle. I wondered if he might have trouble on that obstacle. I kept thinking about how he failed the Rolling Log in Sasuke 6. When I watched the Navi and saw the new obstacles I started thinking "Aw, man, Shingo is doomed." I hope he at least clears the first stage next time. Heck, I hope all 6 of the All-stars compete in Sasuke 27, and that all 6 of them at least clear the first stage. I was VERY disappointed with the results from Sasuke 26.
Oh, and, off topic, but on a happier note: It is January 3rd in Japan. Kazuhiko Akiyama is 38 years old today. Happy birthday, Akiyama-san! I hope you have a great day!

Falls that made me visibly react? Yamada, Nagano, and Lee on the UCH.
I don't know why I found Lee's fall so shocking, I guess I'd convinced myself that he'd pull off the miracle after getting onto that 4th ledge.

I think we should be talking about the amazing runs that some had as well. Li En Zhi had another awesome tournament and just shows what an amazing athlete he is. I thought David C and Brett S (who I really didn't know about) had great runs. Heck, getting to that point on the UCH was incredible. But the best run for me wqas Okuyama. I ddn't think he'd get past the first ledge on the UCH and he along with Li getting the furthest...that's amazing!

Nagano shocked me with his third first stage failure in a row! If this is that case I'm noticing something. After Ogasawara said he was the new Mr. SASUKE, he's failed Stage 1 everytime.

By the time Lee and Okuyama had reached the UCH's 3rd ledge, I wasn't really surprised they failed. you could see their arms come a little furter unbent after each movement.
