This is a message to those of you who may have let your training slip lately. The biggest excuse right now is that it's too cold, but I'm sure there are others. It's short and sweet.

I'm not letting my training slip one bit. If anything, I'm actually going harder now that it's Winter.
Plus, 16 inches of snow = Nothing else to do.

I didn't say every one of you were getting lazy, did I? No, just showing that there is still at least a couple of the crazy people still going at it. And while I don't hate snow, I just hate living up here in Ohio. It's one of the only states where you can just as easily get a blizzard in Winter as you can hit a high of 100 degrees in the Summer.

Thank god I live in California. Another perfect day Besides being an a*****e, the only thing I can say, is why not get a gym membership somewhere, that way you can just train indoors during the winter. I mean, the only problem there would be no Parkour, but at least your DOING something. Theres no reason for someones training to be slipping, there's something called shelter, which shelters you from the elements.

I lived in Ohio for a long time and I don't remember it ever getting over 100. I remember tons of snow every couple of winters, though. JP, I agree with you, but some don't think the way we do. Also, not everyone has gyms near them, and if they do, they may not be able to afford them. I lucked out with my privately-owned (crappy) gym (which is near me AND cheap), but not everyone is so lucky. The only problem is no parkour? What about tricking, free running, gymnastics and just about every other primarily-outdoor sport? Parkour isn't special. This video is supposed to be something along the lines of a motivator, telling other people to grit their teeth and keep training, even if the conditions are less than ideal. I guess you missed the message. Shame.

Well yeah, it's not 100 very often, but this past August was brutal. I think they said that there was 15 straight days in which the high was at least 90.

Yeah, something like that. I actually hate Spring, though. It usually rains a lot.
Fall is ok, but it gets cooler and we lizards don't like that.

That would suck if it just rained all Spring. I guess that's something that the Great Lakes has above the rest of the country.
However, that being said, I look out the window and it's STILL snowing outside. I feel sorry for anybody that needs to travel tomorrow, we Ohioans cannot drive to save our life.

Winter is too cold, simply because I hate the cold.
Now I LOVE the warm, but my body doesn't. I heat up quick and cool down slowly. I get heat exhaustion and I've been in some pretty dangerous situations because of it.
So during the winter and summer my training slips.
Spring and fall though, I go over-time to make up for it. Fall is my favorite, because it doesn't rain so much.

Sir yes sir. Always, sir! Great minds think alike. I actually used to have a pull-up bar right next to my Salmon Ladder, but then I realized how stupid that was. I think I built it for Muscle-ups, since those don't work well with a free bar, but... whatever.

Last year my training slowed down over winter, but that was mostly because of taking a long vacation in Utah and not being able to train the entire time, then coming back to the 10* weather was brutal. I didnt train for ninja warrior back then though so whatever, that training has only been going on for maybe 4 months at most, but i see no excuse to slow that training down for winter, not only do i have almost an entire gym downstairs for weight lifting, but all my obstacles are inside. To try and get through this winter(I cannot stand winter anymore and cannot wait until I move to California) I just focus on my training harder than ever and the time seems to be going pretty fast. I just hope it doesn't rain allll spring like it did last year, Im really looking forward to tieing a 50ft gym rope at the top of my tree and do not want it getting rained on every other day.

50 feet? Don't fall. My rope was going to be 25 feet, I think. Still a nasty fall.

Ya I will have to be careful, theres a good open spot where I can hang it from the top of the tree and no branches are in the way, but they are close enough that at any time I can get off the rope if I need to so as long as I use my head I should be okay.
When I was about 12 there was a 25ft rope in a tree at me friends house, 25ft is pretty high as well, I got up it and grabbed the branch to get in and it snapped in the transition so I wasn't hanging on to the rope tight enough and I tumbled, was not fun at all but luckily I didnt injure myself.

You're right. 25 feet is still a decent fall, but I'll take it over 50. I was just going to throw padding down, or something (not that I have any anymore). I dunno. I'll do it old school if I have to. Any falls will make for interesting Youtube videos.
