If you have not seen Nagano Makoto's 24 run, do not continue. Anyways. We all know what happened to him with his run cut really short.. But I think I figured out what happened. Compare the Jumping Spider in 20/21/22/23 and look at the height of it. Now notice how the Jumping Spider from 24 was just slightly higher than it previously has been..
We all know about Muscle Memory right? Nagano was just going through just as he usually does exactly the same and as we know he was focused on the second half of the stage. So he jumps off in what USED TO be the spot he always does but since the placement of the obstacle had changed he was too low this time which is why he hit the platform and fell in..

Its not like he's blind though... I mean, he should've seen that it abruptly ended, and that he needed to go upwards.
I think he just had too much momentum at that point, and couldn't stop himself.

And it was him trying to rush through it quicker than his usual pace to make more time in case he had trouble with the later obstacles.

I think it was both him rushing, AND muscle memory. Shingo path fail anyone? He's not blind, too.

He admitted to not concentrating on the task at hand but rather what was ahead of him. Despite muscle memory, familiarity, speed... if you are not concentrating on the task before you .. you will fail. That's why he was nodding so much at the end.

Yeah, he was worried about HPA + WW after Shingo and Kanno epic failed those two, so he wanted to make more time for them, hence rushed through the 1st half. (And failing, which is the entire point. )
