Finally, with Nagano being THIS dominant. There's no way he couldn't be #100, unless of course there was a race or something Or if he dies or if he doesnt compete WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF don't even say that WTFFFFFFFF

Sorry to bump.....but I read in one of these recent threads that Yamada was threatening to retire AGAIN. Well, now I think we know who #100 will be. (I decided to bump this one because I don't think creating a new one would've been a good thing.)
Aaaaaaaaaand, we can scratch Shiratori off the list.

Well Scnoi did make a good point though about Yamada not being #100 in 24 even if he threatens to retire now that I've thought about it. Also, I'm pretty sure that many people have caught on to Yamada not retiring even if he says he's going to do so, which makes me now believe that he's going to nevertheless have a number in the 70s or 80s (or low 90s at most) in Sasuke 24. Of course, we could always be wrong.

I must've missed scnoi's post, but I'm 101% CERTAIN that Yamada ain't retiring. It's like Brett Favre - we stop believing him after so many times.

pardon my ignorance, so Yamada Katsumi has announced his "retirement" again in 24? Anyway, many Nagano fans may not like to hear this but IMHO i prefer Nagano to NOT have #100 even i am a Nagano fan. Why? 1- Nagano himself doesn't seem to want it. He dislikes the pressure of #100 2- #100 do not appear to be a lucky number. Omori, Akiyama, Yamada, Nagano never achieved kanzenseiha with #100. Ok unless sasuke 24 proves me wrong. 3- Nagano reached the final 5 times, was so close at s#12 but the only time he really won it was with #99. Call it superstition or heresy ( thanks, Arsenette for introducing me that word, checked wiki & found out it's meaning ) but i think #99 was lucky for him ( maybe not for Yuuji or others but only for Nagano ) Of course, i will dump this "theory" if Nagano proves me wrong in 24. I would love to be wrong.

Yes Katsumi said at the end of 23 that if he fails again in 24 he will finally retire. TBS is going to keep him to his word.. and even put it in the advertisement for Sasuke 24!! LOL Now of course are a couple bets going on.. a) will he fail for the 11th time in a row.. b) if he fails will he retire for real. Unfortunately for Nagano's number.. No one else deserves it even if it is huge pressure on him. Nothing in 23 makes me believe that they are going to replace Nagano at the top of the heap I do hope he breaks the theory

Also, if I recall correctly, in one of Sheep's sims, Nagano wore #100 in four straight tournaments and failed early in four straight tournaments, then when he gave Kanno #100 Nagano beat the third stage. (or came close or something)
EDIT: It was SASUKE 38.

Yeah well if they decide to call Nagano Mr. Sasuke now I don't think Yamada will want to compete anymore.
