Rokudantobi (Sextuple Steps) literally means, 6 step jump. Just a translation error.

Glad they refused settlement on May 12th. I want them to sink ABC for ripping this off.

I'll be quite honest. I don't see any resemblance between MXC/Takeshi's Castle/Sasuke and Wipeout. They're all unique forms of obstacle courses with some natural similarities.
Heck, couldn't you say Sasuke ripped off American Gladiator's Rolling Log and Arm Bike?
The format of Wipeout is in my opinion different enough to not be considered a ripoff. While it's not a totally unique idea like Double Dare or Legends of the Hidden Temple, why should America be banned from doing a pure obstacle course show ever again?

The point was that they found a memo where they explained what it was they were trying to do.. basically "copy Takeshi's castle" word for word.. plus the Google thing where they redirected hits to Sasuke and MXC to be thrown to Wipeout.. that alone is it's own lawsuit.

Agreed Jfeathe. TBS didn't invent obstacles. They should sue the US military too than.

So it doesn't bother you that the intent to copy was there in their own handwriting? LOL Wow.

If TBS wins this Lawsuit, than the 5% of original television should sue the other 95% of television.
It is different enough imo. That's why I was a little disappointed with Wipeout, cause it was TOO different from Sasuke... but I guess that was a good idea after all...

Well the concept of an obstacle course is not new by any stretch of the imagination but this is about a willful attempt to copy Takeshi's castle specifically because they didn't want to pay the licensing fees (what ANW is doing now with Sasuke). THAT is a crime. P.S. This is from the MXC creator: www.localsports.biz/MXC/MXC-Wipeout.htm

JP is just saying that TBS wasn't the 1st to broadcast an obstacle course show. Why do they have the right to sue ABC for Wipeout? Other shows have stolen ideas from other shows and have similar scenes or identical jokes. Almost no show is 100% original now-a-days. Now if they stole the name, that's a different story. Honestly I can care less. Sue sue sue all you want. Just don't waste your time. (This applies to the 2 people arguing and TBS/ABC.)

I don't care I'm just saying you're arguing about 2 different things. It's lame.

I don't care I'm just saying you're arguing about 2 different things. It's lame. Difficult to have an intelligent conversation/debate with someone who refuses to do their homework. First of all explain what 2 things are pissing you off and maybe there can be a starting point in the debate. Just bitching for the sake of it is not helping your cause.

How can they compare MXC to Wipeout? Takeshi's challange's were performed one at a time, by different groups (not every contestent attempted each challenge), and was mostly non-competitive.
Wipeout has everyone do all the challenges one after the next, and is competitive

Again you guys aren't reading the actual lawsuit just comparing it to a show you guys love and follow. For once please read the links I provided so you know EXACTLY what the LEGAL arguments are.. otherwise you don't make any sense.. this is a LEGAL battle.. not an emotional one.

I honestly don't care that Wipeout willingly copied Takeshi's Castle, because that show hasn't had new episodes in a while anyway. But maybe Wipeout should pay some sort of homage to Takeshi's Castle for copying them. This whole legal situation seems pretty frivolous to me though, but then again almost all legal battles seem that way to me haha.
