We've had a few repeat offenders of this as of late, some multiple times. While it's not explicitly stated in the specific forum rules post (which anyone new to posting or new in general should check out) making consecutive posts in the same thread with no posts from others separating them is looked down upon here. Even if they're all on topic, it's a form of spam. Doing that in the spam board is fine, as posts don't count there, but everywhere else, it's a no-go. If you have such recent new thoughts past your initial positing, use the edit function at the top right of every post, right next to quote. Now, there are some instances where consecutive posts actually make formatting sense, but if you're just making general discussion on a topic, just because you have four different thoughts at once doesn't mean they each need their own individual post.

Is it spamming if you're reading through a thread and find several different posts you want to reply to and quoting them individually creating the unfortunate circumstance of several post in a row?
I am referring to cases where there are posts from other members on different ideas in the same thread where it would be awkward and potentially difficult to quote multiple posts.

Ex: Rider can quote many people at a time >"Coding" >"good memory" It's really not as complicated as you're making it seem, it's just text, I just open the link that quote button leads to in a new tab and the last one just normally clicking on, copy, paste it over to the other tab, boom done.
quote 1
reply
quote 2
reply to that one that I pasted into the text window of the first It's not that difficult. Sorry if that killed the illusion

I am referring to cases where there are posts from other members on different ideas in the same thread where it would be awkward and potentially difficult to quote multiple posts. Sorry for only seeing this now, but like Rider was referring to, it's simpler than people I think realize to have multiple quotes in the same post. Not if you are not good at coding or having a good memories. Ex: Rider can quote many people at a time >"Coding" >"good memory" It's really not as complicated as you're making it seem, it's just text, I just open the link that quote button leads to in a new tab and the last one just normally clicking on, copy, paste it over to the other tab, boom done.
quote 2
reply to that one that I pasted into the text window of the first It's not that difficult. Sorry if that killed the illusion madship Just like that. It's usually either people don't know how to do it or end up being too lazy, with a sprinkling of mobile users where it's the most mildly inconvenient for. It's much cleaner to have multiple quotes in one encompassing post than to have 3, 4, 5 posts in a row you happen to want to talk to. The only issue from that is when someone wants to respond to that encompassing post and quotes the entire thing without extracting their specific part of the conversation.

Yeah.. doing that in mobile (and still keeping the poster tags in place) is a P.I.T.A. but when I'm on PC it's easy to do with tabs and prefer it since my post count is off the charts...
