Figured it would be a good time to talk about this since it directly impacts what might happen in March, 2011.
Okay.. for starters we are fairly certain the main show Sasuke will end in March. As of Jan 31 we are not sure if there will be a Sasuke 27 but so far I'm hearing yes.. let's see. Going with the assumption that there IS a Sasuke 27. What will G4 do? Will they quickly do an ANW3 then and try to throw in new ANW competitors into Sasuke 27? Will they delay ANW3 to the summer as they were expecting to anyway and just do their normal ANW and possibly put a prize at the end since Japan's course will be completely shut down? Will they do ANW3 in the summer and change the format to resemble the Sasuke course (all 4 stages, etc.). If that is true will they invite foreigners? or will they keep it American? Or finally.. will they cancel ANW?
I am allowing 2 votes. One for format of ANW3 and if you do think they will do a 4 stage.. pick which one (allowing foreigners or Americans only - thus "A"NW)

I'm not so sure G4 would get ANW3 done in time for 27. It is just too quick. I'm thinking they will just send the guys from last time who did well in Japan. I would love to see g4 do a Sasuke renewal with an american twist on it with foreigners invited (best case scenario) but i'm pretty sure if they have ANW3 it will just be ANW2 with some prize at the end. I don't think g4 will invest into a full 4-stage course :/

They have to change the format so perhaps they will attempt a Sasuke. I don't know what their budget is but i think it could be successful. I'd love to see foreginers in this possible american sasuke, like Yuuji, Nagano and Okuyama - like ANW2 - but i doubt it.
I hope G4 at least makes a full course; i'd still watch it.

What I would LOVE: - literally exact replica of the course in Japan - all stars etc. invited
What will probably happen: - foreigners not invited (and not shown if they are there *cough ANW2 cough*) - Either ANW2 format with money prize or... - Really bad recreation of Sasuke

I just they'll keep it similar to ANW2 just making the reality part longer, and having one winner, but ideally I would like them to attempt their own 4-stage course with just Americans with the occasional 'foreign guest'.

I'm expecting ANW2 redux.. seriously.. They seem to have gotten favorable reviews for the Venice Beach part.. I'm still up in the air if they will do boot camp again. If they lost too many viewers because of boot they might change it up. Dunno.. but I'm fairly sure they will forgo an ANW until the summer.. and I DO believe it will remain ANW (meaning Americans only). I doubt they will invite a large amount of Japanese to come over.. remember.. they'd have to pay for them to appear on the course - especially if they are named competitors. If they had an open lottery (like Sasuke had in the past before G4 arrived) then I don't believe G4 can handle thousands of entries.. They haven't shown how they can effectively shorten the entry list to 100 people in one day.. I think they will keep ANW to several days and milk it for what it's worth.
As for Sasuke 27. I am thinking the same - Send the ANW2 guys that passed the first stage + Levi for a total of 6 in Japan.

I don't think G4 could cut through enough of the red tape to get an ANW3 done. Moreso, I don't think TBS would reserve 10 spots for Americans for the show's last hurrah. I could see Levi, Brian, and David getting invites from M9, but I don't see them bringing a ton of Americans into the fold.
That said, I think G4 would make ANW3 similar to ANW2. But instead of boot camp eliminations, they'll run a 2nd Stage, 3rd Stage, 4th Stage at a secluded location to keep spoilers from leaking out.

I doubt there's a full stage course, unless G4 gets M9 more involved in following ANW's.

I doubt there's a full stage course, unless G4 gets M9 more involved in following ANW's. M9 aren't the only people that can build an obstacle course. They'd get brought into the fold if they own any amount of the rights to Ninja Warrior, but I'd doubt they do.

Bumping up since this is now a current topic. So far no confirmation as to the date of ANW3.

Bumping up since this is now a current topic. So far no confirmation as to the date of ANW3. and with it, all hope of a trip to Japan from American rookies (who haven't already gone.) That is, of course if Sasuke ends this March. I think what will happen is they will only have their next ANW way after Sasuke 27 (Sure we all thought on new years of 2010 that they'd have the next one in time for 25, but no) and it won't be a trials for Sasuke (which will be over) but instead its own Sasuke knock off. I'm not saying it's going to be a full four stage course, it's just they got closer to the look of Sasuke in the last ANW.

Am I the only one who thinks that G4 has enough money to just buy the SASUKE set and host their own show with all of their obstacles???

Am I the only one who thinks that G4 has enough money to just buy the SASUKE set and host their own show with all of their obstacles??? The risk would be very high to survive for shows after Sasuke but I seriously see G4 eying out the idea.. I would think they would use the obstacles to make ANW bigger totally ditching the Sasuke idea. That and the fact that they are 100% incapable of actually doing a 4 stage course in 1 day with 100 people like TBS/M9 have been doing it for 13 years.

I don't like giving G4 credit but I can sort of understand.. Since don't they have like 200-300 or so competitors for each ANW? Also they have to process walk on applications and Sasuke has 100 or some competitors and everyone there is already signed up. Although the not working past sunset thing I don't understand..

Not working past the sunlight is just them not buying lights. Though you need quite an amount, wasn't there an estimated amount of like how much the course (or at least a certain stage) cost on here before or was that just a number thrown out there with no merit.

Same goes with the sticky spray and climbing chalk right? That's just TBS/M9 being nice.. They don't HAVE to provide that. Also didn't G4 have some rule against sticky spray in ANW2?

It would make sense for G4 to take advantage of the 4 stage obstacle course in Japan. Waiting until AFTER Sasuke 27 to start up ANW again would be a bad idea, simply a waste of money to create a 4 stage course of there own, when they could simply start ANW a few months earlier, and have M9's course to run again.
I bet ANW3 wont be much different from ANW2 in terms of content. I don't think the boot camp part will go away, but I do think the beginning trials course will either grow, or have something new to it.
But yeah, I don't see any reason to change the format for ANW3.
