Competitors would have to grip the side of the ledge to climb it without use of feet, it would be a kinda similar to a rope climb but much harder. The ledge could either be completely smooth or with some small grip spots like the vertical limit. The ledge could be either small as a transition to a higher ledge or large like a full on climb.
How difficult do you think this idea would be? Has it ever been done in any of the foreign shows?

I think it would be near enough impossible for anyone barring elite climbers who solo mountains if it's 3cm. The Floating Boards is a feared obstacle that did a load of damage even on ANW, and the grip was far more than the length of the Cliffhanger as well as you being able to use your feet, and we still had loads of fails. I also don't really get how you can avoid using your feet if the ledge is vertical as your body would be propped up against the wall it's attached to. That's why the Ultimate Cliffhanger's first two ledges had the wall they were attached to slanted inwards.

What about as a small transition ledge to a top horizontal ledge, say half the length of the Shin slanted ledge?

Would be cool, they would need to make it 2x4 sizes and also make it super grippy cause it would be tough, but not impossible. One ledge would be super hard but if you had 2 parallel, then it would be easier
