In 2017, Sasuke celebrated it's 20th anniversary and it was emphasized a lot. However in 18 and 19 (2007 tournaments), there's no atleast visible mention or acknowledgement really at all about it being the shows 10th anniversary. If anyone from Japan or who has seen the original broadcast for each and/or the build up marketing, feel free to correct me. I'm guessing Nagano's Kanzen and the massive renewal overshadowed it all. Still seems strange to me the show wouldn't celebrate 10 years on the air considered how close it was to being cancelled when Banzuke was.

I presume at the time they didn't realise what "anniversary" meant given that they celebrated the 10th and 20th tournaments, which isn't an anniversary, yet not the year which is what the definition pertains to. Higuchi also wasn't particularly good at marketing the show, especially during Shin-Sasuke, so I'm not surprised he missed this opportunity.
Inui, for all his faults, is much better at marketing. Granted, the "20th anniversary" seemed like a bit of a gimmick as he implemented this for both 33 and 34, and part of me feels like he only did this to bring back the interest in the show after 32's awful reception. And 40 being both the 40th tournament and 25 years after Sasuke was born was too good an opportunity to miss.... though it did give them the excuse to show those tournament recaps, which started out great and ended awfully/rushed.
But yeah, I think the bigger focus at the time was on the complete renewal.

If this is the SASUKE World Cup, then what would the "SASUKE Olympics" be?

You know, it's so weird because I was thinking the same thing lately (I think around the time you've posted this at least, this is just a late response).
It really is sort of weird how they didn't really acknowledge 18 or 19 as being a 10-year mark since the show's debut--particularly 19 since it was released on September 19 2007, and SASUKE 1 on September 27 1997; it's a week off, but I guess it's no big deal.
And dakohosu mentioned some good pointers. I know we just had Nagano's Kanzenseiha (which was huge and definitely what was on everyone minds) as well as a 10th tournament anniversary before that--that being their actual definition of an anniversary at the time from which I can understand; but still, no mention of a decade-long running of the show? Plus, with the Kanzen renewel for 18, that would've been the perfect opportunity to sort of incorporate it in some way. But that's just me.
Maybe they have mentioned that at some point in those tournaments and I just simply didn't notice, but if that were the case, it could've been too subtle for me to remember. I'm not sure.
