Shoutout to a couple friends of mine for this idea, they were discussing how Kongu and Okuyama would've made 24 feel more emotional had their Final Stage runs been swapped in order. I thought of a couple others myself but was also interested in what y'all thought. Any pair of runs that you think, if they swapped order, would've made a tournament more emotional/better in general?

Hashimoto and Okuyama on 26's Stage 2 such that Okuyama was the last Japanese competitor standing, oh wait, they did that anyway with the editing....... Apart from that, in theory, Nagano and Shingo on 9's Stage 3, given that Shingo's fail as the LMS was quite underwhelming, though in practice not sure how this would work given that that would require Nagano to be given #98 with no notable prior track record. Other than that, maybe swapping Yuuji and Jessie in 37, given that Yuuji's shock fail at the end of his Stage 3 run would've been a really nail-biting way to cap off the stage. Whereas Jessie was just a generic CH first transition fail, which I think most people could've seen from a mile away. I could also have seen Yuuji getting #98 given that he's a two time champion, and while Jessie is badass, not sure if her getting #98 was really justified. Also maybe Asa and Ryo in 30 as well, again for the reason that we had two Stage 3 clears followed by two Cliffhanger fails. And again I could see Ryo getting #98 despite him having failed Stage 2 prior, as he was still a very recent Finalist.

Kanno and Kawaguchi in 31. Seeing the joy of Kannos fail, followed by the heartbreak on the VL ending the stage works so much better than one of the most underwhelming runs in Sasuke history imo.

Yamada and Omori's Final Stage runs in 3: That could have been one of the most iconic and heartbreaking finals ever, but instead we have to see a competitor who barely made halfway the rope.
Shingo and Yamada's Stage 2 runs in 5: imagine how nail-biting it could have been seeing that close call that avoided a Stage 2 ending.
Yuuji and Okuyama's Stage 3 runs in 22: the first ever Shin SASUKE Third Stage clear could have been amazing as a LMS performance, but instead we saw a generic SCH fail

Given that in the Sasuke 3 example, it would require Yamada to wear #100 and Omori wearing #89, despite the former having only two Stage 2 fails the latter having two Finals. Same with Sasuke 5, Shingo getting #100 after a Stage 1 fail doesn’t make a whole lot of sense really.

In fact I know that before these tournaments the numbers seemed pretty logic, the only exception maybe is 22 when Yuuji could have wore #84 and Okuyama #77, given how nonsense the number were in that tournament

Personally, I like that Yamada didn't run last in Sasuke 3. It's a reminder that he was just a regular guy at one time, competing on a silly TV show, and not the tragic figure that he later became. It's the last time we see Yamada in that normal light.

Kinda surprised how nobody mentioned Yuuji in 24 not being LMS as seeing a non LMS Kanzen feels weird.

For me, it would be Takeda and Shingo in 31, given that Takeda tried one up Shingo on the Rolling Hill
Akiyama and Yamada in 9, although Akiyama was planning on retiring at that time and Yamada only just came back from one
Bunpei in 16, but I can't see anyone wearing #100 besides Nagano
You-know-who in 33, but similar to 16, can't see anyone else wearing #100 besides Yusuke
Yuuji in 28, granted the numbering was crap and the All Stars ran last due to the forced retirement, but I think it would have been better if Yuuji was the last clear for Stage One and Two instead of Kanno
I also think it would have been better if Ryo and Tomohiro was swapped in 40 given that Ryo failed between two emotional clears

Yamada and Nagano in 17, pretty self explanatory
Kane and Shingo in 7, especially since Kane failed Stage Two, his worst performance at that time
